SWAC retro/pro combatlike uniforms?

Oregon allows football players to design the uniforms. They work with the Nike designers. If I'm Chip Kelly, I'm selling that to a kid hard. Any edge or avenue a school can use to get recruits has to be explored.

Nike lets high school players design their own uniforms as well...I think a few local schools let their players design whatever they wore...and it immediately boosted morale.

The point is, what has the Russell contract done for us? How have they tried to market the fact that they have a contract with the only HBCU conferences in nation along with Georgia Tech and Ohio(who's fans also aren't too proud of Russell)? I mean it's not even just about a fancy swoosh or a symbol, but some of these companies are creating signature identities for teams.

For example, Nike creates signature logos and fonts for certain athletic programs...things that you can brand....what is Russell doing that's going to set us apart from each other?

I'm surprised no one (players) in the SWAC has got some made on their own...

I'm sure you will have to run it by the coach, AD, etc. but imagine if a JSU (as an example) player scores a TD on a Thursday night game on ESPN and does that? Recruiting...

Like these?

SU's equipment manager designed our uniforms from last season. He received input from the team. He basically said he thought of something, did a design, and submitted it to Russell.

Hell yes

People don't know how much that makes a difference...

Now we as the SWAC/MEAC (and TSU) gotta do something that will make the FBS schools bite from us... somewhere some player is sitting up right now probably doing that...

It makes a big difference. The talent level in the swac is pretty much even across the board really. its really no seperation. The swac team that gets this done, gonna make a huge improvement. I hope its JSU though. LOL

To answer your question. Nothing.

but Oregon had ZERO football tradition... how many people knew what their uniforms looked like before this... This will work for a team like Oregon. Bama and AU uniforms plain and hell.. but you wont see nothing change about them.

But they also win now.... no one would care if they were losers. Who cared about Boise State 10 years ago? Winners matter.

Ten years ago, Boise State wasn't too shabby.

That's a big difference as well. Boise State went from the school with the Smurf turf to the school with the Smurf Turf that has been in the natiaonal title hunt for the past 5-6 years. Same with Oregon.

Even Eastern Washington pulled a "gimmicky" move with going with the red turf and won the FCS title in 2011. Winning does play a part in this.
