SWAC parity?

no parity in some areas...some programs never take a nosedive in the commissioner's cup standings as funding is constant while some will be great in cycles...

We look pretty good this away tbf. :) Wish you could be here to see it come Saturday. They're big, strong, quick, and fast. No "big" names just a whole lotta' kids and coaching w/ desire. Others have seen it too. I sold the wolf tickets in the private forum to cause dismay amongst the faithful to make sure we don't get the big head. lol We're good man. We're going to be damned good this fall. (no kidding)

Mighty Dog predicted this would happen...Its all about the math...we only have to win the Magic City Classic and beat 2 of the former big three to be in the SWAC Championship game. This process has worked on numerous occasions whether other teams have down years or not.

The down years that you claim are a result of administrators hiring coaches who do not have a clue as to what is going on, key assistant coaches departing programs, the inability to recruit quality players, and a lack of quality head coaches.

Should we change the process of how a team earns a birth into the SWAC Championship game? I must agree, it has been tough on some teams to earn a birth into that game. Some teams have only been once and others have never been...Should teams be allowed to play in the championship game based upon fan support or should we vote on TSPN to determine which teams should play?

My question to the TSPN community is when will our administrators stop hiring coaches who do not have a clue, when will key assistants stop departing programs, when will quality players once again grace the football fields of SWAC teams, finally when will the SWAC attract quality head coaches to direct our teams to championships....whether it is the SWAC Championship, Black College National Championship, or the NCAA Championship?

I leave you with this quote, "You are going to either make things happen or watch things happen".

PS: While some schools are sitting back watching and make excuses about what is happening, other schools are making things happen. What is your school doing?

:noidea:

81, what you said will go over a bunch of folks heads on here. For example look at JayRob's comments. He has no clue what you are talking about. Which goes to show that James Bell may have been right about 99% of jsu fans.

Dog 81 you make some valid points but those administrators are not soley hired by the alumni and boosters, who need to give more to have more of a voice to begin with. I make no excuses for our loses with BELL because the aministration let one AD hire this guy without a valid search so fans and boosters have to except those three losing seasons and ensure that it does not happen again.

You point out teams need to make it happen or move on. Comegy is a serious upgrade over Bell and we have invested in new coaches, Facilities, etc etc.
Recruiting great talent has never been a problem for JSU so we are back on track in that department. WE have community support and the support of former Standouts who have been welcomed back to help the team get back to the top. I can name several programs who have a rich tradition of winning, who have lost there way and made it back. USC being one of them.
You guys count us out based on Bell loses, and a Comegy loss at another school. We lost to you under a different coach and Comegy was not a JSU but we will continue to lose becuase of those reason. Mikey that makes no sense at all. At the end of the day are we now contenders or pretenders. Most would say contenders. We will not have to rely on so many transfers in the future because as we win we will get the top highschool talent. We will only have one guy starting that did not play last season and we have all our DL,LB and a host of offensive weapons to boot. It's up tp Comegy and Staff to make half time adjustments. If they can, we have just as good a chance if not a better chance to be in Bham in December as the rest of the contenders.
JSU fans can live with that.

Dude, the things you mention are not an exact science. Besides, the rules are changing back to the one that favors AAMU. In the 7 game format, you can lose more games than JSU and STILL go to Bham. That was not the case with the 9 game mandate. JSU was not a contender during the mandate years BUT if the mandate was in effect in 2000 and 2002, JSU would have been in 3 of the first 4 SCG's. So the game is not hard to get into. You just have to win the right games. However, unlike MD and AAMU, JSU strives to win every game. AAMU has never posed a threat to JSU when we had good teams. Our Achilles heel has been AlaState and Grambling. We typically beat Alcorn, SU, and AAMU. So if we just split with AlaState and GSU, there is no keeping us out of Bham in the future.

...and then Mike co-signed that. :smh:

His comment makes sense...literally. AAMU is not doing anything to get better. All AAMU does is sit by hoping for other teams to get worse. That is why you won't see any SWAC championships any time soon. I think JSU and GSU have met their quota for bad hires.

There is a reason Hughes was hired.
There is a reason Hughes was fired.
There is a reason Bell was hired
There is a reason Bell was fired.
There is a reason Comegy was hired....and JSU is better now for ALL of these decisions. AAMU has not got to that level of understanding yet.

If your sadness hadn't been revealed before that^^^it should be crystal clear to EVERYONE now!!

Dude, it's the truth. One could argue that your 2005 team that got beat 100-0 by Grambling was as good as your 2006 team. Again, you didn't get any better. I saw absolutely NO inprovement from your team from 2005 to 2006. Had Bruce suited up against you, you would have lost 100-0 again.

Mark Bradley is the biggest soundboard for my arguement. He left UAPB and went to OU and played his ass off.

Imagine a lil coaching.

James Bell send help!!!!

Dont get me started on SWAC coaching.

Ah, Mark Bradley was playing his arse off before he left UAPB. He returned 3 punts for touchdowns in ONE HALF at UAPB. In fact, Mark wasn't even a high school football player. Bradley is the ONLY player in OU history to be the PLAYER OF THE GAME and receive the GAME BALL even though he didn't even suit up. His first year as at OU he was a redshirt and he was on the practice team mimicking 'Sinica Wallace' for the 1st team defense. He ate OU's defense up so bad, that when they played Iowa State that weekend, they were OVERPREPARED for Wallace.

It wasn't coaching that got Bradley in the league. Bradley was a STAR in the SWAC. He was just that talented.

Dude, you are so happy to beat JSU that you over look the obvious. We improved enough that your team that was supposed to cream us...had to struggle. Did you struggle in 2005? Nope. We will continue to close that gap AND close the door in your face. You can't beat JSU without Bell.

I know you gonna think this is smack, but TP you out your RABBIT ASS MIND! Dude, last year our team became more fundamentally sound than almost any team that we have had since moving into this conference. We've only truthfully had one other team that was that sound and it was the year that Tony Bellamy was the QB. That year should've been the year that we won the SWAC, honestly. We had hellafied speed and strength on both sides of the ball, with great corners, a Mlb by the name of Ware, with 6 WRs that were interchangeable, and four strong hard nosed running backs.

You don't know anything about our team and even if you did, you would still say something negative because we were in the places that you could only wish your teams could've been during that time. You and everybody else thought that the championship game was made for Grambling, SU, and jsu. When you jsu folks saw that you weren't making it after the first year. Yall all started to complain about going to the D1aa Play-offs.

See, I can see through all this BS that yall continue to post. I know better than to believe anything that you say. Atleast GR can be real about some things and still smack good. But, you my friend have this new world that you tend to live in that no one else seems to see. In a way, because of all the crap you post. I would love to see jsu get the snot beat out of them every week just to see what you will say next. But, being that I'm not like you. I would rather have a strong jsu for the conference strength, if for nothing else. See, I look at it like this. It's everybody under the champs fault including the champ that this conference is rated so low. You ain't even got the good sense to not dog your own conference in public, so why should anyone else think we are worth a dayum?

In closing, Tp your comments are both assinine and suspect when it comes to AAMU. I just hope that people can see through the obvious pain that you go through watching AAMU and Bama State going to places that you thought were designed for your team. The really sad part is that you have now garnered a few followers that are amenin' that crap that you spew. I hope they learn a lesson after this season about following your crap. There just can't be more delusional people from jsu like you.

:smh:

Dude, yall didn't sco' no mo'! Dayum, what are you talking about? 21-6 at halftime and you still had 21 at the end of the game and lost? You got your arse whooped! PERIOD! :smh:

Mike, I don't think that ONE JSU fan is "jealous" of where the BAMA's have been. We only know that we have what it takes to be better than you. We kicked your azz into TWO SCG appearances. We know that we made bad coaching hires that caused our downfall. We KNOW that Comegy is better than Hughes and Bell put together so you ain't got to worry about JSU...we will be alright. If we thought we could not do any better, we would be concerned but beating us when we were down is NOTHING to brag on. We have really not had a winning season in 4 years....but that changes this year (unfortunately for you).

Also, how do you call a team that lost to UAPB, Valley and PV the most fundamentally sound that you had in the SWAC? Well, that may be true but look at what standard it is measured against. This is sad that you simply don't know any better. Also, whoever Bellamy is had no good AAMU squad. Interchangable WR's?? LOL Dude, AAMU ain't never had offensive talent. This is almost as bad as your 3-deep comment. Note: Sometimes being 3-deep at every position is not good....as you proved. :emlaugh: JSU has a lot of good receivers now I bet that that group you talking about ain't got nothing on our top 6. We have yet to see a good AAMU team and NO, this ain't AAMU hate because we give props to other teams when they do well. Your team was just not good last year. ...and even the pollsters agree.

Yes, I do understand that it is the conference's fault that we are sorry but that should not disallow me from telling you that your team needs to take it up a notch or two. I am not the only person thinking this. Others from DIFFERENT schools said the same things when MD asked who for the top teams in the last 10 years. That team would would barely make the top 20....seriously. We have runner-up JSU teams that were not as bad as your 2006 team.

Who was the coach at jsu on Saturday November 4, 2006?

Why does it matter when that coach threw a team together in 3-5 months? Comegy hardly knew his players names last year. I guarantee that AAMU can't cut half of their team and go 6-5 a few months later. This year, things are a bit more even so we will see if you can walk the walk. AAMU can't beat good JSU, SU, or Gram teams. Unless, we have a losing record of near-losing record, you can't beat us.

More diversionese.

I'll ask again: WHO WAS YOUR COACH ON NOVEMBER 4, 2006?

TP, did you see a struggle in the 3rd quarter? What I saw was a team that settled down and came out of the locker room and stomped a hole in yalls arse!

No, what you saw was the more experienced team come out and take advantage of a team with players out of position and in the wrong defensive sets.

Pay better attention the next time. We prolly gonna run back two int's on you this year. :emlaugh:

Man, quit postin stupid criticisms and post some substance. TP, Shawiggi, myself and others make posts with substance. Do the same for a change.

How was your honeymoon? I thought (and hoped) you'd still be on it.
