Yall Gram folks love listening to Jaguar Journal  . Bad idea imo. tSU will lose plenty of revenue @ the gate, plus you are putting your head coach @ a disadvantage if you make it to the SWAC Championship game as you have no off week to prepare.

I don't see the big deal about an off week before the next game, there are several games that you don't have an off week for, this one just happens to give you a trophy.

Grambling did it in 2005, played Alcorn the week right after Bayou Classic, then the week after played at the SCG and it didn't effect the team! It kept the team focused and helped us to put an azz whopping on A&M even more!

Less than 2,000 folks were at the Alcorn game also.

Less than 2,000 folks were at the come close Alcorn game also.

Alcorn's student body didn't even come to the game to even attempt to fill their home side, hell they probably knew they were gonna lose anyway, knowing that you have a bad team will keep butts out the seat! I thought your argument was you thought a game played after the Classic with TXSU would put your head coach @ a disadvantage if your team had to play in the SCG without having a week off to prepare for the SCG. My reply was we done it before, without a week off and our team was still victorious! Now you're talking attendance figures now, which is it? You don't think the game between SU and TXSU will be well attended or by playing a game against TXSU after the Classic will hamper the team from performing well in the SCG if they had to play in it? All i'm saying it's been done before! Football isn't a p_ssy sport, i say man up and do what you got to do! That's a guaranteed payday for SU also!

That's not our fault! Alcorn's student body didn't even come to the game to even attempt to fill their home side, hell they probably knew they were gonna stomped on the field, knowing that you have a bad team will do that! You don't think it the game between SU and TXSU won't have good attendance or you think not having a week off to prepare for the SCG if SU was in it? All i'm saying it's been done before!

Actually he made both arguments

Since the football playoff situation is not clear - Texas Southern probably would not have much problem getting on the Delmar Stadium docket for the game. The Houston ISD schools looking at some playoff football at that point could work around the timing of the TSU-Southern game.

Best part for TSU - they get additional practice time in their season, since they would've already gone fishing at that point, unless the HOBO offense can put the squad into the SWAC title game.

I just love your daily everso unimpressive underhanded smack.

How does cutting the nets down in a high school gym feel?

By the way, we won't be playing Southern at Delmar actually Reliant.

I am not in favor of playing sTu the week before the biggest extravaganza on a world wide stage in all of BCF kingdom. Damn espn and the mule they rode in on........

JROCK has spoken! :emlaugh:

Its the week after, but I still agree, its a bad idea on SU's end, from the fans to the players.

That's great if the Pioneer Bowl is returning this year - was hoping it'd be back! But TSU-Southern is the same week, right?

Neither the week after.........We will be preparing for post season play........And we don't have time to practice in pads against sTu. :emlaugh:

What's the matter Jags? Majority of your alums live in Houston anyway so what's the problem?

Way more folks from BR comes to that game than alums in Houston. The majority of SU fans are non SU alums, dont think our administration understands this. The week after the BC is a very bad idea on our end. Players will have a let down after the BC, and we need the off week to prepare for the SCG :D .
