You are right Robber, TSU & Alcorn played in the Vet in early 2000 or in the late 90's in a game that they called the magnolia classic but it flopped because tsu only brought maybe 100 people and Alcorn folk didn't show up in big numbers either.

Can you say with 100% certainty that it WAS NOT Alcorn's home game that was moved to Jackson? I mean they have rights/access to pay a Rental Fee to use the Stadium too, right?

Urruuhh if you're insinuating that JSU pays a fee, you continue to forget....JSU pays NO rental fee. We play for FREE.

SU lead the entire first half until that dumb azz fake punt. SU had all the momentum until that point. Gram was about to start crying, as usual  .

Who ever called that stupid, predictable fake punt should have been fired on the spot. SU had the lead, there was no reason to attempt that fake punt. That was poor coaching at its best.

1. Other than the SWAC Championship Game, any game after the Bayou Classic will be poorly attended. SU final exams begin the week after the Bayou Classic. Many SU fans pretty much spent a good portion of their entertainment money to attend the Bayou Classic, so that will cut down on the fans. Let's be honest, successful attendance will be 98% reliant on SU's fans showing up.

2. Will Texas Southern actually bring fans to the game? The last time we played them in Reliant, they had maybe 10 people on their side of the stadium.

3. There is no benefit for SU to play this game.

I see we got a neo on the page trying to make a comment. Dude, pay attention to what's going on before you comment or make an informed response.

You don't know so I'll tell you...

* The alumni/students made sure that was Steve Wilson's final game coaching the Tigers by not attending the game.

* Up to that game we hadn't won a game all season.

* Our interim president admitted that he should NOT had given Wilson another year and had made a mistake going against alumni wishes.

* Sometimes statement games need to be made. Just ask Jackson State when James Bell last coached Pine Bluff in Memorial. How many Jackson State fans/alumni/students showed up for that game?

* Speaking of statement games, isn't Southern fans/alumni making a statement at this upcoming season's Jackson State game?

negro's brains are locked on crazy.

Let them post and wish for the worst.

C-Leb and DCG,

Y'all can make your jokes about Jackson, but let's not act or pretend that y'all haven't moved a home game to Jackson before. Considering that, y'all saying y'all are looking to move a game to jackson ain't far fetched.

Mike Bigg,

It was definetly TSU's home game. They may have done it twice.

TSU sold their home game with JSU to Jackson twice in the 1990's Robber.

JSU began playing its home games at Mississippi Veterans Memorial Stadium in 1967, shortly before JSU demolished its campus facility to make way for a science building.

JSU rents the 60,000-seat facility each game from the Stadium Commission for $15,000, or seven percent of ticket sales, whichever is greater. The Stadium Com

Take your own damm advise cause you don't know squat and cracked your face all over this board with that crap post..
That article is old as hell.
It was written before DFA even took over and the Stadium Commission was abolished.
Bet you won't post the date of that ancient shat was written and then post what happened to that Board in the years after.

Let me help you out.
It was 2005 when that crap was written and it was in reference to the renovations at memorial that had been going on for 4 years and a stadium for JSU was being discussed.

The Stadium Commission that you put in your post to try and prove me wrong about something I know about, live next to, and see on a everyday basis proves what I say is true but you will post your own crazy facts.

THE STADIUM COMMISSION DON'T EVEN EXIST ANYMORE.
Some of ya'll would try to tell Bill Gates he don't even know about the inner working's of Microsoft.
