That is what Dr. Broussard and the rest if Southern's administrators have suggested to the NCAA. The NCAA at this point has said no, they do not operate in that manner. The NCAA wants Southern to re-certify all athletes during this time period. I am imagine this can be more difficult if you are unable to reconcile your rosters of college athletes during that period with both internal an external sources necessary for authorized transcripts. In fact, you can not just get it over with. Texas Southern under Dr. Charles McClelland's leadership (and to some degree now Alabama State in the process, they hired BD Educational Consulting, LLC) literally hired Bond, Schoenick and King as well as an individual from the NCAA, Mike Moleta, for this process which you are aware. But, you may not realize that Mike Moleta increased the staff by four and Texas Southern University athletics began the tedious process of re-certifying each college athlete that participating in any sport on campus during that period. This was one of the components that placed Texas Southern in a very solid position regarding operating under the NCAA governance. Texas Southern was unable to just get it over with.

So, what is the NCAA looking for? Are they trying to see if SU used players at any point who should not have been in school? Because to re-certify you have to have transcripts that follow the athlete....correct?

JR, let's be realistic here. You guys can't afford a lawyer to stop payment on a check let alone go up against the Collegiate Giant/Warlord aka NCAA. That will be a waste of the little money you have. Unless you all are planning on moving down to D2 then I suggest that you all be quiet and thank the Good Lord that the hammer hasn't fell (yet) and keep it moving. You all don't want to draw anymore negative attention to you all's mess.

I think we can afford plenty of lawyers. That's the one thing we have unlimited access to.

Are these those 6 figured people you talked about some years ago? Why did they let some of your sport programs get cut?
And no, you DONT want to draw attention to you all's mess. Be thankful that the Warlord is working with you guys. If they wanted to, they could kill your programs.

What does this have to do with a coaching hire verses su's ENTIRE athletic program waiting for the guillotine to drop? Nothing.
You guys need to follow the example of others and how they handled the situation. You don't need to try and re-invent the wheel.

The NCAA is reviewing whether documents match and are consistent from what was reported and was suppose to be on file in both athletics and the registrar' suffice. Unfortunately for Southern and the SWAC, the NCAA can not assess a final penalty until they actually review whether a rule has been broken.

I am not sure that is the case. I agree it is most certainly expensive. I would suggest it is less expensive than the cost of losing revenue associated with not having an opportunity to qualify for the men's NCAA Tournament with a team that has shown his competitive enough to win the SWAC Tournament.
