Southern at Northwestern State

Interesting, we play NWST so who would have ever thought they would come over hear with baggage from almost 10 years ago. And then the Mississippi troll infestation came out for our company. The only thing we didn't hear from them is Mo Tea Sir (I believe it was coming any minute though)? :emlaugh:

It is almost like hearing them saying, "McNeese ice is colder than SU's ice or McNeese's sugar is sweeter than SU's sugar". Next, they'll be asking McNeese, "we sick boss?" :emlaugh:

Now we know who that house knee-grow was that Malcolm X was referring to:

This is the most attention McNeese has received in a long time.

Yes, if only we could find a way to get some attention these days! I know, going on the SWAC page and interacting with the Southern guys will REALLY generate some interest! I mean, it's not like we're gonna on the front page of the New York Times Sports section or anything...

Oh...wait....my bad....

Okay, what was that you were saying about being attention starved???

Now I see why my neighbor ask me today, "where is McNeese State in Louisiana? Are they anywhere near New Orleans?"

I dont have a problem playing the OOC state schools occasioinally if the financial arrangements are right. Take Northwestern for instance, they realize the value of SU's FAN SUPPORT IN COMPARISON TO THEIRS and consequently is willing to pay SU a financial guarantee along with a return game next season. SU will not pay them a financial guarantee in 2014. This weekend NSU will welcome more than 10,000 SU fans at $20.00 a clip. That's more than $200,000 just from SU fans not to mention parking fees and concessions. SU will not generate that kind of revenue from NSU fans next year at Mumford. So the playing field is not level. We must therefore become creative in using our extraordinary fanbase as a revenue-generating mechanism to enhance our athletic fortunes, and consequently, our athletic prowess.

Everyone just loves it when SU is coming to town. When I lived in Huntsville, AL, sports news stories would reference SU's fan support. When word got out that SU would visit ULM here in Monroe next year, their sports talk forums received several posts about SU's fan support. Other schools see SU as a "cash cow" and it is high time SU start to manipulate those numbers in a manner that is financially favorable to itself. We are blessed to be situated in a metropolitan area approaching 1 million population where nearly a third is African American. Of SWAC schools, only JSU comes close. It is way past time, and I think Dr. Broussard gets it, that we use this extraordinary phenomenom to our financial advantage.

Earle....GR has to admit....you have really provided me with some entertainment this week. I dont think you have tried to be funny, but you are funny as hell.

The funny part is, not only do you believe this, all of yall believe this....EVERY DAMN FAN.

This is entertainment

Because they would have made a lot more money than the buyout if Southern had shown up. A record crowd. Great entertainment. It would have been a good day for them.

The whining and crying is about money for McNeese, plain and simple. Not about "honor". It's about McNeese looking out for themselves and expecting Southern to not do the same.

Hypocritical, don't you think?

Actually, no...there's no way for Southern to set a record crowd at McNeese...our current record of 27,000 will stand unless we expand the stadium. When we put aluminum bleachers up, that changed the seating dynamic and we can no longer put overflow crowds on the hill like we used to be able to. The State Fire Marshall stopped that....

While you'd definitely bring a nice crowd, there's no way for you to set a record, so you can stop spouting that nonsense right now...

It's absolutely about honor...We went to your place, in good faith...after the hurricane, when it came time to straighten the schedules out and re-up, you guys tried everything, including invoking Force Majure to get out of paying the buy-out. EVERY Other school who was impacted by the hurricane agreed to try to reschedule and worked honorably to honor the contracts. Heck, Texas Southern was in the same boat as everybody else and they agreed to an impromptu game at the last minute. It worked for them, it worked for us...it wasn't about money. Northwestern let us use their field to play on, as did USL. As much as I dislike USL, I gotta give them their props for doing something classy. Northwestern's our biggest rival and not only did they let us use their field, their band practiced for a week to learn how to do our fightsong and came to the game and played for us.....THAT's honor. It's about more than the almighty dollar...

I understand the issues with Katrina. I got to New Orleans four days after the storm and stayed there, working in the Lower 9th and in St. Bernard parish for damn near two years. There's not a damn thing you can tell me bout Katrina that I don't already know...

And there's not a damn thing you can tell me about how the contract was handled. Eventually, you sacked up and the buyout got paid. If ESPN paid it instead of Southern, that's not exactly surprising, I guess....kinda sad, actually...

You can try to make it about money, but it's not. You know this...you just have no legitimate response, so you dissemble and deflect.

Sometimes you just gotta go with your strengths, even if they're not really strengths...talking isht and trying to pretend that you're smooth money making wheeler dealers only makes you look foolish. If that's what you think college football's about, it's no wonder you've always been in Grambling's shadow...

You and I both know I've made my point ;) So, on that note, I'm done. You guys can carry on.

This week will be an interesting test for both of you ;
)

Playing USL doesn't mean anything. We beat them worse than we beat you. The only reason we didn't set that highest point difference record against USL was because we took a knee on their 12 yard line to let time run out..just like we did with Southern...

UGA schedules Northwestern and other small schools and never gives them a major beat down. They treat their FCS visitors with the same sorta kindness we show you guys and USL. That's what you do to lesser opponents...

The difference between those schools and McNeese is that when you lose to them, you were supposed to lose to them. It's not news. If you play McNeese, a team with the same number of scholarships as you, and you get whipped like you stole something, it looks bad. It exposes you. Ducking us, and then scheduling a team that's SUPPOSED to beat you but who's known for treating smaller schools nicely doesn't mean that you're not afraid of getting beaten in your own back yard by people who are supposed to be your peers...

You know this ... ; )

But can you beat them now. Beating them then when they had no good coaching is one thing. Can you beat a Terrence Broadway lead ULL team this year.

This new coach at ULL would kick McNeese's arse. This ain't the same team you played in 07. LOL. You can talk all this biggity talk all you want. The bottom line is somebody from SU must have pissed in your corn flakes to have a hard on for a supposed sorry arse team. What gives? Did Pete Richardson not recruit you or something? Or does this go back further? I don't remember McNeese being so amped to play SU when Pete first got there and his first 7 years or so. Shole don't. But you brag on beating our 04 team. I sure wished we had played you mofos in 03. You got lucky you didn't see that team. But I digress. Never heard of folks ducking a team that beat them once. You would think McNeese scored 60 points on us or something and hurt all our players in the process. LOL.

I think you need to look back at the boxscore to see how you beat us like we stole something. One would think SU was never in the game, never lead or was down by 3 TDs all game. Looks like late in the third quarter it was 25-17. We gave up a FG and Interception TD in the 4th quarter to make the final score 35-17. Wasn't exactly a royal beatdown. Look at the at the stats. Pretty even. You got people on here thinking McNeese was just over powering or something. You got scoreboard and won. If anything, most Jags were pissed about losing that game the way we did knowing we had a better team. So folks were more than ready for a rematch the following year.

Y'all didn't want any part of McNeese in 03...or 02...or - really - any year....

In 2004, Southern was 9-3 and played for the SWAC Championship. As you point out, they got beat 35-17 by a 4-7 McNeese team that only won 1 (that's ONE!) conference game that year. If you couldn't handle us THAT year...you didn't want any part of us in a year where we actually played well...

We'd play USL anytime, anyplace. It's always been that way. Always will be.

Could we beat them now? Who knows....ONLY one way to find out...

But just last year, we took out Middle Tennesee, who finished second in that league and who beat Georgia Tech. I'm not too worried about USL...They're like Southern. They can't afford to play us...the risk of loss and exposure is too great.....

We scored 10 points in the fourth...but...it's not our fault you couldn't prevent that. We took our foot off the gas, but that didn't seem to matter much...

Okay enough. You tell me what losing to McNeese State is going to do to poor ole Southern U? No different than SU losing to any Southland school in the La. What will it do?

ULL ain't thinking about yall because they moved to FBS and think they got more money and is better than you. So yeah, maybe they do think they got something to lose. But right now I bet their coach ain't scared to play McNeese. Not with the talent they have assembled. Maybe a few years ago it would have been suspect. But not with this coach. Now back to poor ole SU. I want you to explain to ole JR what in world could happen to SU if we played McNeese and lost? We already don't go to the playoffs in our conference. So other than an OOC loss and some pissed off SU fans what earth shattering repercussions will happen? Will all the white players that we already don't get suddenly want to go to McNeese State? Do the local BR players (who already rather go to LSU or ULL) if they can gone suddenly matriculate to McNeese State? Do you actually think those kids who are interested in SU are going to be swayed by a loss to McNeese? I don't know. Enlighten me on this. Now to think about it. Even if ULL lost to McNeese State, sure they would be embarrassed since they are FBS and don't like yall. But they still wouldn't lose a recruit to you guys either. You think a kid going to turn down that FBS offer and the chance to play bigger schools than McNeese State can offer on a weekly basis going to care about that? That's like saying South Florida will not be able to recruit in Florida because they lost to McNeese last week.

I see why our past administration may have not been able to get deals done. If the McNeese administration is like you posters, I am sure our BOS probably told your admin where to go with that contract offer to play again. Yall probably harder to deal with than those folks across town in South Baton Rouge. Man LSU did a job on the rest of you PWC La schools with that inferiority complex and wanting to belong. Sheesh.

They need to blame that third world thinking person they put in the Governor's Mansion, Piyush "Bobby" Jindal, not SU.

Yep. That's why they were in Tampa last week trying to collect that check the same way we all are if your name isn't LSU. LOL. Even they don't pass on a payday.

Even LSU folks are mad about how Ole Piyush has drastically reduced funding for State supported institutions.

Case closed.

Broussard said in a recent radio interview that he attempted to schedule all 4 LA. Southland teams NWST was the only taker
We are not ducking anybody

Since you guys have a propensity to fabricate reality, could you please post an audio? Thanks.

You can't help yourself huh? That slave mentality got you doing things that completely doesn't make any sense. Maybe Broussard's attempts to schedule all 4 of Louisiana's Southland Conference schools has something to do with that plantation in Jackson, MS. Now I see why the main road leading into that plantation is named Lynch Street, as in William Lynch. Could it possibly be that could have been Willie Lynch's main research campus? :noidea:

Well, at least we didn't sell out our own dark-skinned brothers and sisters like some did and STILL DO. Hint, hint.

Just face it dude, yall just got embarassed on a public forum when all you had to do was say, you had the better team that day and move on, but NOOOO, you had to lie and lie and fabricate and then fabricate some more just to get you out of the hole that fabricating had gotten you into.
In other words, you ran from a certain school and didn't want to admit it.

Oh well....that was fun reading and very entertaining though.:lol:

Come on Jag-br, that's not nice. I'm just grateful you didn't threaten to blow my head off and dump me in the river like you did a certain poster.:smh:

Po' JayRob. :shame:

JayRob, massa gon' now. We didn't fall for his lies and he couldn't stand the truth, so he ran off as expected.

You don't have Tom for him anymore. If he does show up again, you can go right back to your "massa, we got a good house here" schtick.

But, right now, you can relax. So relax. Chill.

Especially with all of those excuses they gave for that a--whipping in Memorial last season.

Nothing you said up there makes any damn sense at all. You just posting to be posting and want it to be like SU is getting handled. Ain't nobody even worrying about them pokes. Folks in LA know that if you ain't in BR or New Orleans area you get treated like a step child hence the inferiority complex. You fell for his crap because you want to talk about SU. Not one time did you ask him why they didn't try to play SU in the 90s.

Seems like the propensity of evidence in and around su condemns you. From the looks of the many mulattoes in and around your dance squad and campus, it seems as if some more than others have been fraternizing with "massa" a lot more than one like JayRob ever could or would.:snicker:

Don't blame me cause yall are scared of the LocNeese monster.

JR, I hope I didn't offend you bruh. You're one of the cool ones. Now if you want me to ask him that question, I will.

"Hey, frmrpokey, how come McNeese didn't play su in the '90's? Were yall THAT scared of ole Pete?"

How's that JR?
