Southern at Northwestern State

So who at SU is scared of McNeese State? I want names. You think Broussard is scared of you cats? Our Head Coach (who probably don't know much about yall and SU's dealings), our players? They played the same mofos you guys have when they were in HS. I seriously doubt Dray Joseph is saying, man I don't want to play McNeese. LOL.

The fans don't even give it a second thought. If you ended up on the schedule. They would be there.

That's just a great deal of myopia on his part. McNeese isn't a good after thought with most people associated with S.U. If they wouldn't have pulled that upset this weekend and came running to this board, I'm sure they would have been the last thing on most of our posters mind. You would think we are playing them this week instead of NWST. :emlaugh:

Broussard played in the Southland. He knows you're not ready for that kinda competition. You're far better off ducking us and talking about your attendance than you are trying to swim in the deep end...

Broussard knows that Northwestern's been down for the last three years and is in a rebuilding phase. That's why you're playing them NOW instead of later. He's smart enough to know that timing's everything and this is as good as it gets for Southern ; )

Really. But playing ULL and U of H and even having the nerve to schedule UGA knowing damn well we ain't ready to be playing SEC foes, but you say we are not ready to play fugging McNeese. LOL. So are you saying those teams are inferior to McNeese. Let's just talk football. Not money. If SU powers that be have no qualms of sending players to play those FBS level programs why in the world would the AD be worried about what McNeese would do to SU. You ain't U of H. You ain't Georgia. I know yall beat USF. But they ain't those programs either.

This is comical talking about ducking McNeese. But yet folks are willing to get on the field with teams MUCH superior than McNeese. Ain't like we would be scheduling ND State or Sam Houston State. Sheesh. Yall think too much of yourselves. Just go ahead and admit that the SU powers that be just was not that interested in McNeese for monetary reasons. You know it too. Just got your feelings hurt when we didn't try to get you back on schedule. I know you were arguing with folks on the Round table and know you are a Republican. Maybe if you La clowns had not voted Jindal into office, SU and others would not have to play all these money games. That includes your school as well. The only reason you went to USF was for a paycheck. Same reason you will play LSU knowing you have no chance in hades in coming within 3 TDs of them fools. Just go collect your checks as we will continue to collect ours. If your AD wants us so bad to play McNeese, I am sure he will call on Broussard.

Trying to put themselves on some moral high ground when they are doing nothing but collecting checks just like everybody else.

:shame:

Isn't su and Mcneese in Louisiana? If one beats the other and does it soundly, couldn't they use that as a recruiting leverage? Hmmm, NOWWW I seeee.:snicker:

You see UNA hasn't tried to schedule us since our SIAC days. Now JSU on the other hand got handled by a D2 in FCS. What a shame. :shame:
And like we did BACK to them. Thank you. Now don't....PLEASE don't have me bring up what's that school?! NORTH ALABAMA!! Hahahahahahaha!!!

Wins against those schools are not guaranteed. That's the whole problem with your plan. You could play those schools and not get the benefits you want. What's worse, playing them could make them stronger and give them the very advantage you wish for.

I'd still take more money and build the program from the inside rather than hoping for marginal benefits while helping your competitors. The possible rewards for Southern don't justify the risks in my opinion.

I dont have a problem playing the OOC state schools occasioinally if the financial arrangements are right. Take Northwestern for instance, they realize the value of SU's FAN SUPPORT IN COMPARISON TO THEIRS and consequently is willing to pay SU a financial guarantee along with a return game next season. SU will not pay them a financial guarantee in 2014. This weekend NSU will welcome more than 10,000 SU fans at $20.00 a clip. That's more than $200,000 just from SU fans not to mention parking fees and concessions. SU will not generate that kind of revenue from NSU fans next year at Mumford. So the playing field is not level. We must therefore become creative in using our extraordinary fanbase as a revenue-generating mechanism to enhance our athletic fortunes, and consequently, our athletic prowess.

Everyone just loves it when SU is coming to town. When I lived in Huntsville, AL, sports news stories would reference SU's fan support. When word got out that SU would visit ULM here in Monroe next year, their sports talk forums received several posts about SU's fan support. Other schools see SU as a "cash cow" and it is high time SU start to manipulate those numbers in a manner that is financially favorable to itself. We are blessed to be situated in a metropolitan area approaching 1 million population where nearly a third is African American. Of SWAC schools, only JSU comes close. It is way past time, and I think Dr. Broussard gets it, that we use this extraordinary phenomenom to our financial advantage.

Come on Cee. You know darn well AJ took UNA off the schedule. What are they, like 23-0 against AAMU? JSU is 1-1 against Delta State, the same Delta State that played in the national championship game the year we handily beat them. Try again.:snicker:

AJ was not even around when we last played UNA. Sorry come again. Nice try to cover up Delta St though. ~snicker~

Right. That's been my point all along.

This is the most attention McNeese has received in a long time.

Interesting, we play NWST so who would have ever thought they would come over hear with baggage from almost 10 years ago. And then the Mississippi troll infestation came out for our company. The only thing we didn't hear from them is Mo Tea Sir (I believe it was coming any minute though)? :emlaugh:

So su took McNeese off the schedule as an excuse to play FAMU? What about all these other years you had chances to make up the game? What's the excuse on that? Nevermind, we know. The SWAC's nine game mandate.:snicker:

It's one big reason why. Me personally I wish that we can play mcneese sometime soon so their fan can quit crying about their home game that we owe them.

im having a hard time understanding where SU did something "dis honorable"...

So this is what i gather...a contract for a home & home series with a buyout clause was signed.

1st game was played at mumford... 2nd game was cancelled due to Katrina. Next time it was suppose to be scheduled...SU opted to use the buyout clause so that they could play in the Swac/Meac Challenge! if thats the case....SU fulfilled their contractual obligation!

did i miss something?

With that been said...why so much hate & disdain for SU from this McNeese guy? and why this b/s about SU no being honorable?

and one more thing! if SU is so sad on the field...why are you so pee'd off about no return game?

Please don't play McNeese anytime soon. Please wait until ya'll get a real coach and some good players.

Thanks in advance.

Actually Broussard tried to schedule McNeese. Your previous AD that left y'all for Tech said no. :)
Broussard said in a recent radio interview that he attempted to schedule all 4 LA. Southland teams NWST was the only taker
We are not ducking anybody

Playing USL doesn't mean anything. We beat them worse than we beat you. The only reason we didn't set that highest point difference record against USL was because we took a knee on their 12 yard line to let time run out..just like we did with Southern...

UGA schedules Northwestern and other small schools and never gives them a major beat down. They treat their FCS visitors with the same sorta kindness we show you guys and USL. That's what you do to lesser opponents...

The difference between those schools and McNeese is that when you lose to them, you were supposed to lose to them. It's not news. If you play McNeese, a team with the same number of scholarships as you, and you get whipped like you stole something, it looks bad. It exposes you. Ducking us, and then scheduling a team that's SUPPOSED to beat you but who's known for treating smaller schools nicely doesn't mean that you're not afraid of getting beaten in your own back yard by people who are supposed to be your peers...

You know this ... ; )

Because they would have made a lot more money than the buyout if Southern had shown up. A record crowd. Great entertainment. It would have been a good day for them.

The whining and crying is about money for McNeese, plain and simple. Not about "honor". It's about McNeese looking out for themselves and expecting Southern to not do the same.

Hypocritical, don't you think?

LOL @ athletic prowess.:emlaugh:

I wouldn't insult their athletic prowess. All you gotta do is look at this thread and you know the Jaguars are incredibly good at mental gymnastics! That "logic" they use is more twisted than a pretzel!
