Rush: Obama will use Haiti to boost cred w/"light-skinned and dark-skinned community

Re: Rush: Obama will use Haiti to boost cred w/"light-skinned and dark-skinned commun

If you give more and then take more you're still at ZERO. We still have a long way to go.

In all honesty, America, France, Great Britain, and Spain should be binding over backwards helping Haiti.

Why should they, and is it constitutional?

Re: Rush: Obama will use Haiti to boost cred w/"light-skinned and dark-skinned commun

....which is why you didn't read one post from me defending Limbaugh on this statement. I just simply posted the entire clip of him talking about Haiti and Obama.

Having said that, I do have a clip of Limbaugh urging Americans on the radio to donate to Haiti.

http://news.yahoo.com/s/politico/20100115/pl_politico/31539

He also appeared to discourage help for the island nation, saying, “We've already donated to Haiti. It’s called the U.S. income tax.â€￾

Re: Rush: Obama will use Haiti to boost cred w/"light-skinned and dark-skinned commun

Why should they, and is it constitutional?

Because the countries I mentioned created the political, social, and economic problems in Haiti. Because of those problems Haiti is unable to handle this crisis alone. After all of these years Haiti is still paying for Toussaint and Dessalines.

If that be the case, then how is that the Dominican Republic shares the same island with Haiti, and their prospering?

Re: Rush: Obama will use Haiti to boost cred w/"light-skinned and dark-skinned commun

The DR has not been attacked like Haiti. The birth of Haiti and the DR are different. If anything, the difference in the way they are dealt with makes my point.

Re: Rush: Obama will use Haiti to boost cred w/"light-skinned and dark-skinned commun

In sports analysts will say that athletes are who or what they are. A 4.8 40-yard dash sprinter may run a 4.65 but for the most part run a 4.8. A .275 hitter in baseball may hit .300 for a stretch but will generally average about .275. Rush Limbaugh is a bigot. He may try to clean his words sometimes but most of the times does not. He is what he is, a bigot.

This is true. The DR has not had multi-national corporations and the U.S. imposing its will on it. Still, there is a lot of poverty in the DR.

RB

Please explain how Genesis 12:2-3 is related the Haiti.

The economic problem with Haiti is a result of Jean-Claude Duvalier (Papa and Baby) and their families. They stole billions of dollars in relief funds from the citizens of Haiti and killed those that did not agree with them.

That verse relates to America. America is the only nation on earth that gives more to poor countries than any nation on earth.

My point is we're simply the most blessed nation the world has ever seen.

Why didn't you condemn it like you do with stuff that other people say? Had that been a liberal that would've said that, you would've started a thread about it, posted youtube clips about it, condemned it, and quoted several bible verses. Are you afraid to condemn what Limbaugh says?

If you noticed, I only speak against things that are of interest to me. Limbaugh stating that Obama will use Haiti to boost his credibility is not of interest to me. Now, if Limbaugh was to support abortion, homosexuality, same sex marriages, selling drugs(sorcery), and removing God from public buildings, then this would be of interest to me..........and I would have no problem speaking against Limbaugh.

Also, I don't speak against everything Obama does because it doesn't interest me. For example, our general asked Obama for 40k troops, but Obama sent him 35k troops. I didn't discuss it because the 5k additional troops Obama didn't send was petty to me.

He doesn't understand, the effort that was used to destroy Haiti after they gain independence (freedom), during American slavery and beyond.

I asked the question, because I know how you think and knew you would refer back to this scripture. But you are "Wrong" that verse has nothing to do with the United States

Abram had only a promise from God (Not the United States)

The promises God gave to Abram fall into three categories (Gen. 12:2-3). First there were personal promises given to Abram. God said, 'I will bless you; I will make your name great.'

Then there were national promises given to Abraham this childless man. 'I will make you into a great nation.' And there were universal promises that were to come through Abram.

'You will be a blessing . . . and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you.'

The three blessing are captured in the following verses riches (13:2, 5; 14:22-23; 24:35; 26:12-13; 30:43; 32:3-21), potency or fertility (1:28; 13:16; 15:5; 22:17; 26:4; 28:3, 14; 35:11) and victory (1:22; cf. 22:17).

Did you ever sing the song father Abraham growing up as a young lad? What father Abraham was the song referring to?

IMO, America is the promised land for God's people who are called by His name(Christians). We are the land of milk and honey. We are the land that foreigners beg to enter at the mercy of our government's feet. Our nation is the only nation that police the entire world, control all seas, and gives more to poor countries than any other nation on earth. Wherever we go we make it our business to spread the gospel throughout that location. There is no other place I would rather live on earth than in the promise land........America.

You can believe as you choose because it's your right, but I choose to believe what I see with my own eyes. There is no greater nation on this earth, and there has never been a nation more blessed than America. We are the shining city on a hill divided by two rivers in Isaiah 18. Representatives of all nations come to America to discuss and handle the business of the world at the United Nations. The world trade center is located in America. Our water, interstates, streets, homes, universities, and entertainment is far better than any nation on earth........and the American ghetto looks like paradise compared to what I've seen in other countries. Yes, we are the land of the free and home of the brave.......a Christian nation. In God we trust!

Galatians 3:27 For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ.

Galatians 3:28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus.

Galatians 3:29 And if you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.

Re: Rush: Obama will use Haiti to boost cred w/"light-skinned and dark-skinned commun

:topic: ..........DH, start a thread on the prayer board if you wish to continue.

Deuteronomy 28 shows how America became a very blessed nation, and it shows how Americans brought curses upon our land. Our constitution clearly states we are to obey this verse, but our politicians ignored our constitution, and placed our nation in debt.

Deuteronomy 28:12......You shall lend to many nations, but you shall not borrow.

When did the world’s most blessed nation also become its biggest complainer?

As the Thanksgiving season approaches, it is becoming more and more obvious (painfully so) that a lot of Americans – even those who are generally optimistic – approach the future of this country with great trepidation.

Prices are up. Jobs are scarce. The economy is turbulent.

At press time, we didn’t know who the next leader of this country will be or what, exactly, he is planning to do to clean up so many things – from the environment to Wall Street to global dilemmas.

In 1955, 66 percent of Americans polled believed that the United States was the greatest country in the world, according to a Gallup survey; and, in the early 1990’s, only 37 percent echoed the same thing. It is not preposterous to presume that, nearly 20 years later, that number has fallen yet again.

Why?Despite the uncertainty and turmoil of the last few months, the United States – collectively – has a lot to be thankful for. We live in a culture with the most Nobel Prize winners and the greatest number of patents – proof that America is still foremost in the advancement of ideas and free thinking.

The American military is the finest in the world – regardless of whatever your views on the current war – or any other war – might be. http://www.findlayliving.com/?p=20

Re: Rush: Obama will use Haiti to boost cred w/"light-skinned and dark-skinned commun

Yeah, I am familiar with the song. However, the song has nothing to do with the US.

America is the promised land for God's people who are called by His name(Christians)

Please post the scripture that states this [US] country is the Promise land. The last I read the Promise Land was Cannan, now Jerasulem.

Wherever we go we make it our business to spread the gospel throughout that location.

If that's true, please explain why there are more Muslems than "Christians"

You are crazy!

Simple. Christianity didn't come on the scene until after false religions. Explain how america can be the youngest and most blessed nation in the world after other countries had a head start. Explain how a military of only 375,000 can keep the world in its place and prevent foreign countries from establishing a base on our soil. Explain how Christians are more prosperous.

Jesus Rifle? - Not sure what to make of this one

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cUo91h_en9Y

Apparently some military weapons have bible scripture embossed into the parts. What do you think about that?

Re: Rush: Obama will use Haiti to boost cred w/"light-skinned and dark-skinned commun

I dont make anything of a bible reference on a military weapon. Is this not just the opposite of the mind set of Jesus, since He was called the Prince of Peace.

FYI

The U S is not the youngest Nation, Israel is (1948).

Christians are more prosperous? Where did you get that from, if you look at the wealth of the world, "Christians" are not there, its the Middle Eastern Nations, with their Oil and China with its Gold. If what you are saying is true, then please explain the following:

Most Generous Countries: The US is Number 18 not 1 as you proclaim - number one is Luxembourg

http://www.aneki.com/most_generous_countries.html

Countries With the Highest Income per Capita - the U S is number 3 Norway is number 1.

Richest people in the world, top ten. United States (2), India (4),

Top 5 Richest Countries in the World [GDP] - the US is number 8, Liechtenstine is number one
Qatar, Luxembourg, Kuiwat, Norway, Brueni, Singapore

#1Luxembourg

Roman Catholicism is the most practised religion in Luxembourg. Luxembourg was a major centre for Christianity during the Middle Ages, Roman Catholicism was sustained through the Reformation by the hierarchy, buildings, and traditions established in the preceding centuries. The Catholic Church has received state support since 1801. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Luxembourg

#2Norway

Nominal religion in Norway is mostly Protestant (Evangelical-Lutheran) with 78.9% belonging to the state Evangelical Lutheran Church of Norway.[1] Early Norwegians, like all of the people of Scandinavia, were believing in Norse mythology; the Sámi having a shamanistic religion. Due to the efforts of Christian missionaries, Norway was gradually Christianized in a process starting at approximately 1000 AD and which was substantially finished by 1150AD. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Religion_in_Norway

#3Switzerland

Christianity is the predominant religion of Switzerland (82% of total resident population). 11% of the total population are irreligious. The largest minority religion is Islam (4%, figures as of 2000). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Religion_in_Switzerland

#4United States

The majority of Americans identify themselves as Christians (76%), while non-Christian religions (including Buddhism, Hinduism, Judaism, and others) collectively make up about 4% of the adult population.[3] Another 15% of the adult population identified as having no religious affiliation.[4] According to the American Religious Identification Survey, religious belief varies considerably across the country: 59% of Americans living in Western states (the "Unchurched Belt") report a belief in God, yet in the South (the "Bible Belt") the figure is as high as 86%.[5][6]

Bush Pushes Back Against Limbaugh's Obama-Haiti Remark

Former President George W. Bush pushed back Sunday against criticism -- levied most prominently by talk radio host Rush Limbaugh -- that his successor, President Barack Obama, was somehow politicizing the disastrous earthquake in Haiti.

"I don't know if -- what they're talking about," Bush declared during an appearance on NBC's "Meet the Press." "I've been briefed by the President about the response. And as I said in my opening comment, I appreciate the president's quick response to this disaster."

This past week, Limbaugh insisted that the Obama White House would use the catastrophe in Haiti to "burnish" the president's standing and credibility "with the black community, in the both light-skinned and dark-skinned black community, in this country."
