Quit lying....S.U. just beat you all down for 5 years in a row including 98. It is just sad that someone would say "finish the deal" when referring to cheating.

Aslo another question is the city of Montgomery done with ithe Crampton Bowl renovations????? That has to be the most unconfortable stadium I have ever been to.... This was my first time going since 96 when we played Carver-Montgomery in football... back then I didnt remember having to sit on concrete .... but it looked like the visitors side had bleachers.... That needs to be the next thing they renovate because if you dont have no seat cushion on ASU's side then you are going to be hurtin.majiksity said:Regardless of what a PA Announcer says - the OFFICIAL TIME FOR THE GAME - GAME CLOCK AND PLAY CLOCK - IS KEPT ON THE FIELD BY THE REFEREES!!!!! An electronic clock on the scoreboard is for convience only. It helps fans keep up with the game much easier - but scoreboard clocks, time superimposed on games we see on tv - they are all unofficial. That goes for Basketball also.
There was no cheating on ASU part - the clock went out about 6 mins left in the second quarter and it was not worth a damn from that point on. Besides, if ASU were to "cheat" - why would we have had the clock working perfectly during SU last drive - and it did work perfectly, Im sure everyone who was at the game can tell you how much time was left on the clock on the last score.

When AAMU first joined the SWAC, some SWAC fans told me about the operation of the clock at Southern. I did not believe them because I thought the conference would not allow those type of shenanigans to exist. Then AAMU went to Southern that first year, and I became convinced that those SWAC fans were telling the truth. That clock worked well, just as long as Southern was ahead. The minute we went ahead, that clock went out and stayed out while we were leading. The moment Southern came back and took the lead, the clock came back on and stayed on as long as SU was ahead, which was the rest of the game. I surmised that Southern was preparing to manipulate the clock if they needed more time near the end of the game. There were the same problems with that clock the next time we went down there.
The SU posters are the last group of people who should complain about a malfunctioning clock. SU made management of uncertain time on the clock an art form. Although SU seems to have addressed that problem with its new clock, that doesn't erase the fact that SU did use the malfunction of its old clock to obtain advantages over SWAC foes. Robber mentioned the time JSU were driving for a win, only to be told that time had run out.
I bet that clock worked properly when white colleges such as Northwestern St. came to Mumford.
