I mean if all ya'll speak so glowingly of him, why didn't anyone hire him before A&T?

Most teams get worse when they get a new coach, When Prime left did yall go to the CB? NO. Again new coaches take time. Our dropoff is just more drastic.
Uh we stayed competitive. And he left we didn't fire him... And we're on track to return if we play up to our ability and talent.

Valley went with the non-alum and regretted that decision - after that he rode the Broadway train and A&T was the right position for him at the right time -

Please don't remind us of that decision.

And he WANTED the job smh

Not saying it's highly likely but it's within the realm of possibility that the Valley job is open after the season if we get a new AD and the way we've looked this season

If Ivory keeps the AD job, he might be safe for another year

McNair would be a big mistake BUT as long as AAMU is not a contender, Im good... lol
I dont see AAMU hiring Ed Reed. I could see AlaState making that hire if Eddie Robinson was being replaced. AAMU is way too boring and isolated for Ole Ed.
Since when is D2 AAMU too good to hire a D2 coach.
Some of those coaches on that list dont like black people... Fobbs, Nix, etc....

As for A&T, im not sure why ppl so concerned about them being on the bottom. That is their normal place. That 6 year run is not typical of them. They are normally sorry for a few years, good for a year or two and then back the bottom for a few years.

I know sometimes you post just to post… but serious question… way too isolated from what? Way too boring? We are in the second largest populated city in the SWAC and one of the fastest growing cities in the US with the fastest growing student population in the SWAC.

Don't listen to him - he doesn't live in his own state 🤣 he left for the city like everyone else on this board from those states

For example, Pittsburgh. It's a big city but it's isolated and off the beaten path. You dont have to go thru Pittsburgh unless you are going there. Doesnt mean it's not a great city, it just means nobody is going that direction.

Nix really loves his white daddy. But they've been good to him.

Hence their fans were used to getting back to GHOE festivities and it didn't phase them one bit.

Man its slow up there though.

I am unsure who will be coaching football at AAMU in 2025. However, I know that AD Bryant is all about business; thus, making money for the University. Who ever can fit that mold will be coaching in 2025. Whether that 's Maynor or another coach.

The money is there, at this point it's in the hands of our administration to have that tough conversation. I honestly think he's going to step down after the FAMU game and take his talents back to the CIAA. He's a good coach who just isn't able to cut it consistently at the FCS level and we need somebody to come in and rejuvenate our fanbase. We've got too many alums in the HSV-Bham area that choose to sit home and watch Auburn and Bama play because we have been mediocre. Bryant has got to get this hire right to take advantage of the positive trend the university is on.

yeah I agree that Maynor will take his talents back to the CIAA

You can say that about almost every school, but the difference is the time period between the good times and the bad times. I think the mistake A&T made from a coaching perspective is that they was focusing on someone that had CAA experience, rather than a good football coach that can adapt to different situations. At this point A&T might to ride this one out, but don't be surprise if this current coach is gone before his contract is up. I know it must hurt some A&T fans to see that Hampton is doing better than them in the CAA and at a cheaper cost (sometime money is not solution to a problem).

What jobs do you think will be available in the CIAA for him to go back to? St. Aug football is not coming back anytime soon (to be honest they might be better off never bring back football). As I can't foresee anyone getting rid of their head coach after this season. One would think ECSU would, but since the Coach is a alumnus and former player I can see them giving him one more year to turn it around. The one thing you have to give the ECSU coach credit for is making the salary better for the OC and DC and division of responsibility better, than it was before. The only thing I can sadden about is his inability to recruit in the 757 and 252 area code (but with a recruiting budget of a little over $300, you have to get players where you can get them).

Shout out to Northeastern High School in Elizabeth City for going undefeated this football season. Hopefully they can bring home the 2A championship this year.
