Man, that’s nothing. I thought you were going to say 50 million plus. I wonder if Travis or Shedeur donated it from their NIL.
It's always "something" when you get donated money to your program.... Plus, that was just one anonymous donation. I am sure they received more just not at 8 million a pop. We at HBCU's have to become more consistent in putting our finances behind our so-called pride in our institutions. Typically, we give a lot of lip service but do not send our coins to really make a difference. Let's change the narrative in 2025.

Agreed, that's more than some athletic budgets in the SWAC and more than half of most others in the conference. UT climbed back into relevance by their donors announcing they were awarding $100,000 in NIL to offensive lineman. Two to three years removed from the announcement, it appears the investment has paid off.

Man I have been saying this about Valley alums for YEARS. I always call out 't-shirt alums' who have all the pride in the world except when it's time to donate. Hakim was able to get Valley caught back up with his fundraising and hide things for 2 years but now things are back to pre-June 2022 and alums don't wanna give with that dotard president

Tremaine Jackson Introduced as the New Head Coach for PVAMU Football Program

1/7/2025 4:02:00 PM
Prairie View, Texas — January 7, 2025 — Prairie View A&M University (PVAMU) officially introduced Tremaine Jackson as the new head coach of the Panthers' football team during a press conference held today. Jackson, who arrives with a proven track record of success, is eager to lead the program into a new era of excellence both on and off the field.

Jackson comes to PVAMU after an impressive tenure at Valdosta State University, where he served as head coach from 2022 to 2024. Over his three seasons with the Blazers, Jackson posted an outstanding 30-9 record, guiding the team to an undefeated regular season in 2024 and an appearance in the NCAA Division II National Championship game. His achievements earned him the AFCA Division II National Coach of the Year honor, further solidifying his reputation as one of college football's top emerging coaches.

Before his time at Valdosta State, Jackson held head coaching duties at Colorado Mesa University and key defensive roles at Texas State and Abilene Christian University. As a defensive line coach at Texas State and defensive coordinator at Abilene Christian, Jackson earned recognition for his strategic acumen and his ability to improve his teams' defensive units.

Anton Goff, PVAMU's Athletic Director, opened the press conference, welcoming everyone and expressing his excitement about Jackson's appointment. Goff, who led the search for a new head coach, expressed confidence in Jackson's ability to take the program to new heights. Goff made it clear that he wanted a coach with a deep passion for football and a competitive drive. "There was a multitude of different characteristics I was looking for," Goff said. "A leader, someone with football experience, and someone with success prior to coming to PVAMU."

Goff also emphasized that Jackson's values closely aligned with those of the athletic department and the university. "He's someone who aligned with my values, professional values, and the athletic department's values," Goff continued. "His values and how he wanted to run the program and the vision for the athletic department and the university are similar to mine."

When discussing the qualities that were essential for the role, Goff added, "I wanted a football guy—someone who lives, breathes, and understands football. Tremaine is a football guy."

After Goff's opening remarks, Jackson took the stand to address the crowd, laying out his vision for the future of PVAMU football. "First of all, I want to thank God. Without God, none of this is possible, especially with the career that we have," Jackson said. "Football is a ministry for me. Here's what we're bringing—we're going to bring a program that focuses on careers. We're going to be great in the classroom. We're going to be elite there because we're going to match the elite education that Prairie View offers."

Jackson emphasized the importance of community involvement, noting that the team would work to strengthen its ties with the local areas. "We're going to be great in the community and be involved in Waller and Harris County," Jackson said. "We have to support them as they support us."

In terms of competitiveness, Jackson is setting high expectations for the team. "We're going to be prepared to be at a high level. To be competitive not only in the SWAC but nationally and across the country. We're not here to only be an elite SWAC school. We're here to be a premier FCS school, in the top 5 of the top 25," Jackson declared.

SWAC West is in trouble!

Meanwhile at Valley, we got complete idiots who have fumbled this coaching search thanks to the idiot president. 3 former NFL guys have interviewed for the job but still no coach

As someone said on Facebook, it's obvious we're going on 7 months without an AD and it's obvious WHY it was done

We need a a structured and seasoned hire (BOTH A.D & FOOTBALL COACH) not a splash hire to create a good base and work with our budget given and build upon that too. We haven't had that with the young guys except former A.D Hakim 👍 and can't see it with a splash hire that doesn't know HBCU CULTURE.

Forgot Ashley was good for us. Yall got both .SAY thank you THEE I LOVE!

I was about to ask what happenned to the woman…. There was a man coaching MVSU when they played here.

That's her longtime assistant who is coaching the team

She's been suspended for a few games now (off allegations which is on par with the dotard president we got) and it's assumed she's been fired (which explains why Morant is back dressing out because she was basically off the team)

They are where they wanna be and are being well taken care of with a winning institution and fanbase. Y’all could never compare. You are very welcome.

Ashley is in his hometown.

Hakim was forced away by a dotard president and went back to work under Ashley to buy his time.

Big damn difference but you THEElusional Jasson Steaks stans would never acknowledge nuance or detail

Michael Vick apparently has started to fill his staff as he prepares for his first season as Norfolk State’s head football coach.

LaRoy Reynolds and Elton Brown — both former University of Virginia stars who like Vick played in the NFL — posted on X on Thursday that they were going to be NSU assistant coaches. And later Thursday night, Terence Garvin, a former West Virginia star who played six seasons in the NFL, announced he was the Spartans’ defensive coordinator.

Norfolk State has not made any official announcements about Vick’s coaching staff, and an athletics department spokesman said Thursday a possible announcement on assistant coaches could come next week.

If he came back to the place where he was before he went to your lil raggedy, unkept school, that means he’s where he wants to be. Otherwise he could have went or became AD elsewhere. Detail acknowledged. I don’t expect you to understand such things because there’s NO place Like THEE. Stay in your little lane.
