Obviously the evidence was not enough to convince a jury. I'm not making excuses for anybody. I'm just calling a spade a spade. There are too many criminals walking the streets of Jxn. Frank Melton, despite my opinion or yours, was found not quilty in a court of law. Just let it go man.

I was waiting for a bright person to say exactly what you stated. He was found "NOT GUILTY" in the court of "LAW".

Every defendant has a right to a speedy trial. That's exactly what Frank got - a speedy trial. As for the other criminals awaiting trial, it's up to their attornies to file the proper motions to get a trial. But since most of them are represented by overworked public defenders, it's not going to happen.

Also keep in mind that a case involving a public official like this one will usually get bumped to the front of the line. It's in the public interest NOT to have this case linger.

Not to mention a hint of political motivation that was apparent.

That's the standard answer people give when they don't know what else to say. I've never met Danks so of course I have nothing personal against him. I don't like that since he's left office, everything he's done has been against the city that made him Mayor for 12 years.

Melton however, I have met and liked as a person since he used to come to my middle school. However I didn't support him as Mayor because i didn't think he had the temperment and patience needed to run a city. I was right.

No I didn't run out of things to say. It's just obvious that no matter what Danks or Melton does, you are against it. So, it's kinda like beating a dead horse...

Let?s discuss some of the real problems here;

Most of us chose to become educated in order to leave the so- called ?hood?
We like to talk about buying flat screen televisions, ipods, satellite radio, etc. etc
And we moved out the ?hood? in hopes of escaping being victimized and to enjoy the
Fruits of our labor. All of this is fine, except for when one tries to pontificate about
Solutions to problems you don?t even understand.

1st an foremost that Bible you claim to believe in says, that if a man loves this world, he
hates God. From Jim Crow to the ?3/5 human? in the constitution millions of unjust and unrighteous ?laws? have been put in place that neither made sense nor were practical.
Have you ever truly seen the effects of Crack cocaine?
Have you stood there & watch a mother offering to suck your dcik for
$5 or offer her 8 year old daughter to do the same?

Have you ever seen a grandmother being hit up side the head for $3?
Have you seen someone allow another to defecate in their mouth because they were hooked on crack?

When I see these things I get Mad as hell!!!

No talk about solutions to Real Drug problem, only anger towards a man that
Took a sledgehammer to a crack house. I applaude him for that!!!

Now to you lovers of the ?law? Frank was found not guilty by the same system you love

The Hypocrisy in this thread is that some are screaming ?what if I had of done that.? ?Or someone else had? ?We would be in jail right now!?

You are Wrong Everyday Grandmamma's house is being burned and destroyed
And no one cares or does a damn thing about it!

The only Reason Frank was on trail WAS because of who he is.

Thank God Rosa Parks broke laws
Thank God Martin L. King broke laws.
And I?m certainly glad Frank as you say broke laws tying to
Instill some fear in these animals involved in drugs.

You think anyone is sin free?
You listen to your mother, pastor, etc etc and all these people
Have sinned.

Until you come down from your comfortable middle class existence
And take a walk through the **** pile you will always remain inept
To addressing Real Solutions.

How dare you criticize Someone's tactics in a War you know nothing about
The hood has changed since you left.

Criminals don?t follows laws.

Keep loving this world and the laws therein and one day you will
Be in for a rude awaking.

They can't handle the truth.:scared:

For all of his swagger and vigilanti(sp) ways, Melton hasn't even come close to putting a dent in the problems you mention. If his style worked, why has the problems gotten worse under his tenure instead of better? Why have so many of the children he took a personal interest in ended up right back on the street doing the things you speak of? Let's be real, Frank has been out there a long time, well before he became Mayor. I'll be the first to admit that he has a good heart and has touched the lives of some individuals, something we should all do. But when you look at the total picture, you'll see that he's done more harm than good. He's been out there long enough for you to see his life's work. The evidence is in and it's not good.

And for you to mention his name along with Rosa Parks and MLK shows a total lack of knowledge on your part. They stood against laws that were not only morally wrong, but legally wrong(unconstitutional). The laws Frank was accused of breaking are both morally and legally correct. They're on the books for a reason. Furthermore, there's a mechanism in place for him to do all of the things needed to clean up this city. He instead chooses to go his own way. And the ENTIRE city suffers as a result. That's wrong.

I am just glad Frank got off. Honestly, I don't like him as a person (personal reasons) but I like him as a Mayor of a city I hold near and dear to my heart. To me his tactics are justified....and also, he can't be blamed becasue he failed at keeping some kids off the street that he took under his wings...he is not God; all he could do was try. Remember, loving mothers fail at this everyday. Also, it is my understanding that the crime stats are worse under his watch because the crime stats are now being ACCURATELY recorded.

Again, congrats to the azzhole for getting off!!!

Morally correct? Are you crazy? What morals are you talking about?

When I see the destruction that crack cocaine has caused I should be able
To choke the hell out of anyone that tries to brings it near me, or my loved ones.

What?s immoral is for someone to create a law that stops me from doing that.

It use to be illegal to shoot someone for threatening your life at home, in your vehicle, or business. I still would?ve proctected myself, but people like you
Would?ve said I broke the law never mind, the fool threatening me. Now that law is changed. Stupid laws need changing and there is a drive now to create a new law that says if your house is a drug house it can be destroyed, immediately, you know sledgehammer style.

Times change & Laws become outdated,

Why do you think God said in the Bible

?It?s time for a new law, a new covenant, built on better promises????

You better raise your head up from the law books and take a look at what?s
Really going on, because all this crap is gonna end one day
And whether you?re in prison or not will not be relevant, It?s where
Was your heart, God says he looks to the hearts of men

I?d rather do something imperfectly than Nothing, perfectly.

I wonder if when Jesus turned over the money changers tables
In the temple were there people saying

?Hey he breaking the law!?

Ooops!

There was

List of Law breakers include;
Rosa Parks
MLK
Frank

Some of you people know the sins of your pastor, but you still go to his church.
Some of you know the sins of your spouse, but you still stay married to them.
& Some of you know the sins of your family members but you still love and respect them for the greater good.

& still some of you never, lived a day in the hood, had two parents, and never had to go hungry. I guess you're speaking as some form of academic exercise.

So in some of you guys history books it's Roas Parks, Martin Luther King and Frank E. Melton....That has to be the stupidest **** I have ever heard in my life. Sometimes it's best to just shut up.

What do you know? Nothing?

Do you know about the kids Frank is and has sent to college?
Do you know about the funerals Frank has paid for?
Did you know Frank is the largest private citizen contributer to JSU?

Frank has done more good than any internet keyboard jockey
could ever do.

Dude...................We know all about that but THIS AIN'T ABOUT THAT.
Frank has been sending kids to college since BEFORE his BOTTOM LINE days.
Adopted some also.

First criminal he chased was Donald Ray Quinn......................That's what made "The bottom Line" famous here back in the early "80's.
You can't tell anyone that has lived in Jackson nothing about Frank Melton that is not already known.
So stop acting like you can school anybody from Jackson on him.

Justify this any way you want.
I'm still laughing at these people saying "They don't care..............Go out and arrest........" cause it's gonna come back and bite them right in the arse.

So if I do some community service can I commit a crime and get off just asking for future reference........and be held up there with the likes of MLK and Ms. Parks

Dude, Rosa Parks, MLK, Frank, and others broke the law and thats a fact. If it was in black and white......its law. It doesn't matter if the law was morally wrong in our eyes. It was the law and people broke it to create better laws for society.

So with Melton knocking down that house do you fell you life is better? So if he chooses too come and knock down your door is that not a crime or should you still feel as though he is the savior to the city of Jackson?

A lot of these responses really surprise me. I no longer live in Jackson, but my folks do. What a colossal mess.

You mean to tell me that people DON'T see how much of a bad precedent this verdict sets???? Are you kidding me???
Y'all scarin' the hell outta me right about now.

The results of this trial says that if there's even suspicion of wrongdoing (in this case, of operating a crackhouse), a citizen is TOTALLY justifed in destroying property, beating the hell out of someone, etc-- WHATEVER is deemed necessary is protect the "public good". Of course, the term "public good" means different things to different people, doesn't it? :scared:

What's to stop someone of falsely accusing ANYONE of some crime and then taking it upon himself to punish that person in some way HE sees fit? This could go well-beyond what was at first an act of extreme vandalism based on hearsay. This almost sounds like mob rule.
