If I remember correctly, AAMU was our homecomming (You see, we usually pick one of the sorriest home games to make it homecoming, like this year, Texas Southern)

Same for me on AAMU. I didn't hear of AAMU until the late 90s, and just heard of the MCC about 2-3 years ago.

So it goes to show it's all about location, but some people find anything negative about our own anyway. We should be glad someone is covering all of our schools. BET was the only at one time.:smh:

Actually CEE, I think this got blown out of proportion from the get go. Someone stated that they hadn't heard of the MCC and BAM.....it went downhill from there.

The Bayou Classic was orignally televised based upon the name "Eddie Robinson" . When the television networks speaks of Black College football, the name Eddie Robinson will always come up. NBC was the first to jump on the bandwagon as Coach Robinson was nearing breaking at that time Bear Bryant's all time winning record.

I think it is fortunate that all of the Classics are well attended without violence and a good time is had by all. I have had the pleasure of attending the Bayou Classic and the Magic City Classic. They both have their pluses with the Bayou Classic being indoors and the Magic City Classic's tailgating being off the chain. There is a rumor that when and if the dome is built in Birmingham, ESPN will pick up the game live.

Maybe someone said this earlier. (Heck, it may have been me.) But I heard about the MCC during the early '90s thanks to it being on national television due to BET. I believe that was before Alabama A&M became a member of the SWAC.

While I agree this thread raises a legit and valid question....I doubt BlueDog's sincerity. Yes Bluedog, there are other college football classics (beside your own) out there that are HUGE. Now that both schools are SWAC affiliated, there will naturally be more interest conference wise. Historically, the MCC has determined the SCG almost on a yearly basis.

Dont get it twisted. It was HUGE B4 the two schools ever entered the SWAC. Now, it's an even LARGER beast.

Can somebody explain to me how both can co-exist? Maybe in your world they can but not mines.

Someone said the MCC has been on TV for 15 years with absolutely no proof of that. If it has or hasn't it doesn't matter because obviously there are a lot of people on this board that didn't know anything about it.

The way things look some of you need to spend some of the extra money you have on therapy. I mean you folks go absolutely insane on this subject or anything that has to do with a bama school.

Jesus people you were "D2" nobody from D-IAA cares much about D2 school so what's the big surprise? Hell most of you complain every year about the Sheridan poll being skewed because of the allowance of D2 schools in it.

To top it all off, between the two bama schools they have like a total of what? Maybe two National Championships.....Maybe? So why in the h@ll would anybody in their right mind think any D2 schools with a combine two....maybe, National Championships would be on anybody's (D-IAA Fans) to do list?
