PREACH!We will become a better conference by collectively putting our efforts into doing things that will strategically place us in situations that will garner out of conference success and grow the SWAC brand as a whole. There is room at the table for each institution to contribute to that success, but we must support each other.

The members of the Southwestern Athletic Conference are already doing that collectively. That's the purpose of an athletic conference. However, each member of the conference has a role to play. The presidents at each SWAC school can't be held accountable for what MVSU does or doesn't do, just like the leadership at Valley can't be held accountable for what the leadership does at the other membership schools. We will become a better conference by collectively putting our efforts into doing things that will strategically place us in situations that will garner out of conference success and grow the SWAC brand as a whole. I disagree. The presidents do work together, and their membership in conferences is indicative of that. We even have conference commissioners who come together for the greater good by reaching out to the Congressional Black Congress regarding NIL issues. The problem is HBCUs presidents don't work together. We all face the same things in these red neck azz southern states. At some point we gotta have presidents who have a conversation about how to grow together. There is strength in numbers and definitely no "I" in team.
I did not say that specifically, but every little bit helps and can make a difference. We are not the SEC.....we are not getting hundreds of millions in conference payouts....lol.
I have seen HBCUs work together, but you would think it would happen more often. The public HBCUs in the state of North Carolina got together a few years ago to get their out of state students caps increased, which I believe most schools got them increase to 18 percent compared to the normal state percentage of 15 percent. ECSU got theirs lifted to 50 percent due to how close we are to Virginia, as Elizabeth City is closer to multiple Virginia major cities, 757, than major cities in North Carolina (with the closest one being Greenville in North Carolina). The problem is HBCUs presidents don't work together. Do you think part of the problem, unless you go looking for the information, people don't know what type of collaborations our schools are doing together?I disagree. The presidents do work together, and their membership in conferences is indicative of that. I'm sure they do work together on some issues I don't disagree with you at all, but the problem is the average person doesn't know this. This is why our HBCU community as a whole doesn't have a lot of people who give back. If folks don't know they will not support in masses. Unfortunately that's how our community is. I mean is die heart people will but the others will not overwhelmingly. A perfect example of not working together is Alabama At and AAMU on the Magic City Classic. Bama St took the first deal smoking without trying to work together with A&M. Just saying. We both had two different deals until it was worked out.I disagree. Great point. I can't argue that one.I'm sure they do work together on some issues I don't disagree with you at all, but the problem is the average person doesn't know this. Problem with that is HBCUs dont keep presidents long enough…The problem is HBCUs presidents don't work together. We all face the same things in these red neck azz southern states. You aint lying about Delta State attempting to push the MAGA agenda. I deliver for doordash/uber eats in the Cleveland area and I can tell you that those Delta State and Bayou Academy folks all have Trump signs in front of their big houses.3. Delta State's enrollment has plummeted the past years due to them trying to be MAGA lite in the black ___ Delta and ran off the students. They've had to slash many programs in order to offset them bleeding money
