I don't know why you are so quick to want to give Alcorn State credit for something that has already been done. But if you want to used that logic, then I'm going to have to challenge it, again. Alcorn hired the SWAC's first white coach in its history. That's it. But Alcorn didn't hire the SWAC's first coach worthy of coaching at the FBS level. And I'll even admit that I'm bothered that you think hiring a white coach is somehow "opening a door" for other HBCU black coach. That is BULLSHIT!

With that logic, Grambling opened the door when it hire Broadway, who was first hired by NCCU, which eventually lead to him getting to A&T. With that logic, Bethune-Cookman "opened the door" when it hired B. Jenkins, who is now at Bama State. Those schools did it BEFORE Alcorn, but you want to tell us that Alcorn has somehow managed to "opened the door" for other HBCU coaches to get consideration? Really???

So really you have a problem with it being Alcorn who sent the first Head Coach to the FBS as an Head Coach.
Not my problem.
I never said that none of these previous HBCU coaches weren't worthy of this type of shot.
The fact remains that Alcorn did this in the SWAC first and more coaches from the SWAC will go on to be FBS Head Coaches/Coordinators because of it. It is what it is. I'm sorry that it upsets you but it won't change what is going to happen.

It did help but it's up to Alcorn and other SWAC members to continue to find that next hungry coach who just wants a shot. This makes our conference better and results in better opportunities for players and assistant/position coaches from the SWAC.

They arguing about something, Black'n. The only thing PVAMU is concerned about @ this juncture is paying for that new stadium so that daddy-system doesn't come in and start dictating, firing folks ::read::, and then taking over ala Bluefield St.. ::read::
 
Well, Hopson has retained his OC and Secondary coach at USM...

I wouldn't be surprised if a coach at sTu was the "source" to FootballScoop... J/k

So you don't think Broderick Fobbs being interviewed and offered a job at a P5 is opening the door for black coaches in the SWAC?

Do you think he got those interviews because of coach Hopson being the last man standing on USM list ?

Simmons said last night at the Signing day bash that was the tactic sTu used to try and get Hollins, our QB commit. Even got him to decommit for a few hours until Simmons got on the phone and reassured him.
