Hopson going after Simmons!

The PV players are killing the Miss. reporter who broke the news on twitter.. Lol!

They seem pretty confident.

They should stay quiet. Because they have no control on what Simmons will do. He has to decide on this one if it is true. No need on going off on the reporter. If Hopson indeed has reached out to Simmons then it is newsworthy. Now it is up to Simmons to deny or defend the story.

No this is bad for the SWAC...

If there is no competition in the SWAC, we probably won't get the best out of our Coaches and Players. Competition Breeds Improvement.

But if there is no competition, we will revert back to our 2005-2012 Era in SWAC Football. SWAC Football nearly died during that time period. Coaches will be able to get by with 6-7 wins a Season and still get pay raises.

THIS ESPECIALLY CANNOT HAPPEN GOING BACK TO A 7-GAME MANDATE!!!!!!!!
Damn, BH..............I actually agree with you on this one......lol

Nah, I think Hopson really wants Simmons. Now the thing is this. How much of a raise do you want to give Simmons?

Secondly does the lure of being a FBS OC overide him being a FCS Head Coach?

I would imagine since Hopson makes 600K, he has half of that to spend on his OC?

He's already been an FBS OC at MTSU

He'd probably try to get him to usm.... lol

LOI is signed. PV has those kids no matter what Simmons does. And that kid should be pissed off at Simmons if he does leave and not want to follow him anywhere. Because you know damn well Hopson reached out to him immediately after he got the USM gig.

We all know Simmons wants an fbs hc gig. Would he have a better chance coming straight from a successful pv program or would he have a better chance getting a gig by lighting up cusa opponents? This is debatable...

He's been an OC at the FBS level before... He may want a chance at redemption since he had to resign mid-season when he was at MTSU

Yeah but I thought transfer rules change when you have an abrupt HC change... if not, that's low down to do an athletes like that. I'd like to hope he stays for that reason.

Aye, that's the side of the game they don't want you to know

*shruggs*

Them kids will be aight at the end of the day

But a man's word is all he has, and dude would be a coward in them kids eyes if he Bennett Arnold them smh

Oh well

As the old faithful at church say... "Lawd, if you get us outta this one.....!"

This is both good and bad for the SWAC. Good that we got attention on our coaches. Bad because its more fun with better coaching and better play within the conference. You can see the whole conference moving in a positive direction. I also don't like to see Hopson taking coaches at the expense of our schools. But I know its a business. It happens at the big schools as well.

Hopefully Simmons stays so the kids that just signed can feel like they were not just a pawn in the recruiting game.

Hey I am just saying. He obviously lost that position some type of way. So does he desire it again? Or does being a FCS head coach mean more.

PV might have to give him a 250K extension to back Hopson off.

He wants a chance at that level, that pudding is his problem. He wants to be a head coach tho. So it depends what direction he wants to take, two more years at PV or two years at USM.

$500K

It's rare that a HC moves up from a HBCU to the FBS Level to be a HC, OC or DC. Simmons is a great coach but an opportunity like this doesn't come often for a HBCU HC

Well that actually gives him more money for coordinators. USM was paying more for the previous staff. So Hop can make 500K, he can still pay 250-275 for an OC and DC. Or else they will fail at USM. Position coaches make that at a lot of FBS schools.

Being in Simmon's office right now...

What is he saying to himself

Could he get a HC at that level winning at PV? yea Hopson did, but Simmons is black and his chances are much slim than the CAC, and let's be real, (I'm talking smack now) They not winning the West/ship LOL so it's not like he will be running things in the West, so his only outlet may be the Hopson guy.

Like someone said, 2 more years at PV or 2 years under the Hopson

Man decisions decisions

It happens all of the time at the "big" schools
