I like this idea right hur!!!!!!
Yes, there's time if worked on now!
Get both directors on the phone, find an arrangement, practice and make arrangements to practice together (both bands) at least one time on the Friday before the game.
Go through each school's public relations dept. to see about getting footage from both schools, decide on a person to edit the materials, then get it approved by both schools to run on the screens at the game.
If that can't be done, see at about running Spike Lee's recent documentary on the screens while the bands play. If that can't be done, go to local TV stations, buy copies of newscasts that ran that were centered on Hurricane Katrina and its victims and give credit to the stations (for legal purposes)
Also, talk to the promoter or whoever is in charge of classic and see about getting on for a pre-game show (to make sure other things aren't already scheduled or filled up).
And get a representative to talk to NBC execs. about getting coverage for pre-game (if possible). NBC may already do (I don't know). Though it would be pre-game, this whole game is special (with it being the first time back in the dome since the hurricane), that's something newsworthy and could be covered.
It can all be done, if pushed... and if you have competent people in place.
