On last night I saw EWF in concert with Chicago (Ch8 PBS) and it was great.... I said that to say if those two bands can come together then why not us......??????:angel2:

Honestly, Mr J is still pissed about Season of the Tiger and after hearing how he felt about it, i just dont see anything like that happening

Well,....

I guess I can safely say that this wonderful idea will never happen.

This is sad.

You know,.... I'm reminded of something Dr. Joseph Miller taught me.

He said," A football player has 4 chances in downs to get the play right and a musician only have one shot to get it right".

Once again we've let a wonderful opportunistic moment,....one that we will never get again,....slip away.

All I can do now is suck on it and dream to myself how wonderful it could've been. :smh:

So, does this mean it was discussed but declined?

No,...it is not being discussed at all. I personally think that nobody has moved on it probably since this thread was started.

Pannell and Jackson are good people.............all they need is for someone to approach them with the idea. Has anyone done that yet?

Please don't curse me out. Just hear me out for a min. I was talking to an old classmate of mines and she wondered what it would be like if GSU and SU could do a joint half time show when the Bayou Classic returns to New Orleans? Something in rememberance and in celebration of the people of New Orleans. If we could put our egoes aside,...it would be a beautiful thing and we will still have time to go at it on the field. At first, I laughed her off but, now,....I'm really thinking about it. It's something different for these bands. Think about it. ,...Both bands on the field doing second line,...just jamming together. Both bands in a unified formation. We are the major 2 HBCU in La. We can still give the people a battle with both bands on the field at the same time.
what do yall think?
Is something like this possible?
Can it work?
Why or why not?

That would be nice in theory.......however with the sound that coming from the horns at Grambling they would be better off doing the drill while Su played for the entire show:slap:

LMAO.........

Don't say that too loud you are going to start seeing this.....:bawling:

I think that the bands should do either an arrangement of the National Anthem or something to lift the spirits of those who are still going through alot. This is a time to set aside differences and come together.Pannell and Jackson need to here this.

I have not gone any further than the first post in this thread and can imagine what these other folks are saying!!!!!! That would be nice but some act as if IMHO that we are to good for this. Now I am going to read what other have posted...... GUD sneaks his way through thread hoping to get good opinions about this....:read: :read: :read: :read: :read:

Could you take your non SWAC attending school arse somewhere!!!!!! We are trying to do something for NO. I must admit GUD was shocked when reading the different post but I knew we could kinda agree this would be a good idea for both schools.... Hell we are locateds in the same stated and both schools were affected.

I don't see this happening...nice idea though.

Why Warndalyn????? Not being smart but I know(think) that you will give an honest answer. Hey you can PM with a reply if you would like cause I have always respected most of your post and GUD told you that once before....

To be real honest GUD, there's too much bad blood between Southern and Grambling and don't believe the bands would come together like that. It's sad but true...I could be wrong. I know for sure, I don't believe Doc would have done it, while he was in charge...don't really know about Jackson, but I know he still runs the band similar to Doc.

There's no need to get touchy, :bawling: This would have been a great Idea for NO had this been thought off last year when the Bayou had to played in houston, Its just not likely to happen, Oh yeah......before I forget I attended Alabama A&M University for 3 1/2 years, and marched in the band for two, so my opinion holds water, Lmao...*non swac attending..........

Talk about some bad blood. Sit both directors down and the bands and show them some video of Katrina and if they refuse. Point blank the band means more than the moment and that's some SAD *hit. At that point I know this Band things has gone to FAR.:shame: :shame: :shame:
