Terrell_SU said:Cool idea. The song(s) would have to be arranged by one of our (SU) directors tho.

Well,....
I guess I can safely say that this wonderful idea will never happen.
This is sad.
You know,.... I'm reminded of something Dr. Joseph Miller taught me.
He said," A football player has 4 chances in downs to get the play right and a musician only have one shot to get it right".
Once again we've let a wonderful opportunistic moment,....one that we will never get again,....slip away.
All I can do now is suck on it and dream to myself how wonderful it could've been. :smh:
No,...it is not being discussed at all. I personally think that nobody has moved on it probably since this thread was started. So, does this mean it was discussed but declined?
No,...it is not being discussed at all. I personally think that nobody has moved on it probably since this thread was started.
Please don't curse me out. Just hear me out for a min. I was talking to an old classmate of mines and she wondered what it would be like if GSU and SU could do a joint half time show when the Bayou Classic returns to New Orleans? Something in rememberance and in celebration of the people of New Orleans. If we could put our egoes aside,...it would be a beautiful thing and we will still have time to go at it on the field. At first, I laughed her off but, now,....I'm really thinking about it. It's something different for these bands. Think about it. ,...Both bands on the field doing second line,...just jamming together. Both bands in a unified formation. We are the major 2 HBCU in La. We can still give the people a battle with both bands on the field at the same time.
what do yall think?
Is something like this possible?
Can it work?
Why or why not?
That would be nice in theory.......however with the sound that coming from the horns at Grambling they would be better off doing the drill while Su played for the entire show:slap:

So...ummm.. Who started this thread?

It would only be fair to play arrangements from both bands. Everything should be 50/50. That would eliminate all impropriety.

Me either.I don't see this happening...
I don't see this happening...nice idea though.
To be real honest GUD, there's too much bad blood between Southern and Grambling and don't believe the bands would come together like that. It's sad but true...I could be wrong. I know for sure, I don't believe Doc would have done it, while he was in charge...don't really know about Jackson, but I know he still runs the band similar to Doc.
Could you take your non SWAC attending school arse somewhere!!!!!! We are trying to do something for NO. I must admit GUD was shocked when reading the different post but I knew we could kinda agree this would be a good idea for both schools.... Hell we are locateds in the same stated and both schools were affected.

There's no need to get touchy, :bawling: This would have been a great Idea for NO had this been thought off last year when the Bayou had to played in houston, Its just not likely to happen, Oh yeah......before I forget I attended Alabama A&M University for 3 1/2 years, and marched in the band for two, so my opinion holds water, Lmao...*non swac attending..........
Too late...........
