FCS Runner-Up (Towson State) Lost Money in the Playoffs

Some people here really don't get it. The NCAA has the FCS playoffs to keep those teams out of the bowl money and to give them something to do. The FCS playoffs are not designed to make money. The NCAA takes all the the money and uses it to pay the expenses. For example, if FAMU played at home and packed the house, the NCAA takes most of the money, Now if next week BC (or some other school) has to play in BuckBootty Montana, the NCAA has the money to send them there, even if that game doesn't make or loses money. They don't leave it up to the schools to say, "We don't have enough money to come". That goes for D2 and D3 also. Sure, any time they can make money thats good, but it is not set up for that. It cost way more to send a football team across the country, than a basketball team or soccer team.

If it was all about making a profit, most schools would only have 1 or 2 sports, and no womens sports (except for a handful of womens basketball teams)
