Re: Cincinnati Bengals receiver Chris Henry in serious condition in Charlotte

what do you mean by "him getting his life back together"?

he had been in trouble with the law, many times. got suspended from the Bengals for a while. He was just getting back on track, with ball and his life. :(

From what I understand Henry’s girl had been very supportive of him and his career and was very proud of him getting his life back together.

On her Myspace page she talked about their wedding plans and buying rings. I think this was an argument that got out of control and ended tragically.
From the outside looking in I don’t think she intentionally meant to hurt him. I think she probably panicked. It is just sad all the way around. :shame:

I hope Tiger Woods is reading this, because domestic violence is no joke. Parents really need to be talking to their children about domestic violence. This reminds me of a time when my ex-wife and I got into an argument. I got into my car to leave and she jump on the hood to stop me. I know if I would have driven off with her on the hood and she slid off and died, my azz would have been in jail. So I stayed and listen to her argue.

Nope. I think she was just pissed off and her emotions consumed her. Sometimes people get so mad at a person, that they just don't GAF about nothing else except the fact that they are pissed off.

My first thought was that she saw him ejected from that truck and said, "Good for his azz. That's what he get!". Then when she finally cooled down, she realized what had happened and came to the hospital. That's my theory. I don't think panic will cause anyone to just keep driving.

yes, and the root to that is teaching self control. That is the individual factor or lack there of that leads to violence, domestic or otherwise.

RIP to the former Belle Chasse Cardinal. You helped put Plaquemines Parish football on the map.

Thats my thought as well... but at the same time, like someone posted earlier about their situation, if someone jumps on a moving vehicle, that usually never ends good if the vehicle is moving...

I really feel sorry for the kids... they dont have a father. I feel she has to be charged with something because she was no doubt at fault (driving a moving vehicle with a person on it (negligence) and leaving him lying in the street). I can understand that she may have panicked, but a lot of people are killed with guns for the same reason and they cant use that as an excuse to not go to jail...

If she is at fault, she just ended her paycheck. I hope he had a life insurance policy for the kids.

Sadly enough, the courts will see this as another troubled black man being killed. They won't care, and the fiance' will get off with not even as much as a slap on the wrist. But like someone mentioned earlier..."If the roles were reversed..." smh

It's just the times we live in.

I send my deepest condolences to the family and loved ones of the deceased.

RIP Chris Henry...

During a domestic dispute.
As you know, I doubt she will be arrested are charged with anything.

Men do. :goof:

Particularly Black men, thanks to O.J. It's pretty much a no win situation for Black men. Damn if you do and damn if you don't.

In defense of the young lady, Chris Henry pursued her. She was trying to get away from him much like Tiger Woods was attempting to flee from Elin. The question in this case why was she evading him?
