It will definitely benefit PV and TSU when it comes to eliminating those Alabama trips from the travel budgets though

Lol @ JayRob. North Alabama did not add us... We had the power and allowed them back on our schedule. We had room for a competitive game to counter balance our non competitive game with JSU.

When you look at it, everyone in the SWAC will benefit from AAMU's departure. If Tuskegee could move up, they'd probably be a much more exciting rival than AAMU any how.

If Tuskegee can move up and adjust to being in Division I with APR. Does Tuskegee sponsor enough sports to be Division I?

If the Bamas were to leave, Jsu still wouldn't be at the top of the East. And Heaven forbid, if tnst somehow came to the SWAC.....

Thanks. I don't understand the fascination with Tuskegee. It would take significant amounts of money to finance a move up. Don't want he SWAC to have a MEAC-and-Winston-Salem

By the information I posted Alabama St. will have to increase their budget if they want to have the same level of success as they had in the SWAC. Alabama St. had the highest budget in the SWAC however their budget is going to get swallowed by traveling expenses joining the MEAC. I know yall talk about the BAMA schools traveling to the TEXAS schools and vice versa, but the MEAC have 7 schools that are longer drives than Texas Southern and Prairie View.
 
If Alabama State does, in fact, leave the SWAC, that should definitely spell the end of the East and West divisions along with the end of the SCG. At the same time, it will give us an extra date to fill on our schedules once they are gone. With 9 SWAC teams, each school will have 8 conference games and have 3 OOC games they could fill.
 
Also, how would Bama State leaving affect the Magic City Classic? Would they continue to play it? Would it still be around the same time? With all those MEAC teams, how would they fit it in their schedule?

If they go I don't see it happening w/o the north-south format so they wouldn't be traveling to play most of the schools beyond north carolina. MCC will not change under any circumstances. if/when bama state moves up they will still play aamu that last saturday of october in birmingham as long as there is a venue there to play it.
