D-town Jag, let me tell you a story
I woke up in my cubicle one morning (white hall) and there was a bright light that penetrated the foil on the window which hit me. It said "leave this place before you become one of them,". Go back to the land of milk and honey."
Then I realized after my walk to the bathroom for 55 people, I was not meant to be at SU and Boring Rouge. I was meant to be at PV with the fresh air, grass, birds, cable TV, you get the picture?
Yeah I said cable. How in the hell was I going to talk about current events when I don't have access to CNN or ESPN?

Is that why campus police is nowhere to be found to control the thugs that call themselves undergrads? It's one thing to miss half of the game because they only open one entrance to the dome, but to come in and have to sit at the top and sniff chronic all night is just SAD. To have to stand up during the entire game because your thuggish students can't sit down for 10 min, always blocking your view is SAD. To have to sit there and listen to PV's band yell "hey TSU, yall ain't Southern", when they blew you out of your own dome, (with fewer members), is just SAD. To have to run for your lives after the game because the Nupes and the Que's on your campus go at it like the Hatfields and the McCoys ALL THE TIME, is just SAD. Yet you want me to believe yall care about safety?:emlaugh:

JR, going to the right school does not mean anything in my field. It's all about interns, resumes and who you know.
Plus, I am into print journalism. Easier market to crash into.
LaCUmba? Ques and Kappas? That's at SU. In 98', the Ques crashed the Kappa probate show and beat them up.

Exactly what I mean PF, how many connections are you really getting down there. You said print journalism, then you mean you hope to writing for a newspaper or magazine. We both know the Chronicle isn't going to be knocking down the door for a black writer. And if you have graduated why are you still hanging around H-town. Don't you think you would be better suited in a more black friendly media market? Just asking. I mean shouldn't you be calling Earl Graves or somebody. Maybe Micheal Wilbon or William Rhoden? I thought that's why alot bros went to the Howard's and such or either Syracuse to get in on internships. You know on the East Coast.

Seriously, before this thread turns into an interrogation about my life all I'll say JR is that I got total control of where I am at. Something many folks will never have this early in their life in journalism.
Black Mags, especially sports, freelance anyway so there is no future with them unless your looking to move into administration.

Hey Kellis, how's it going in DC? I am not going to let up on PF until he explains himself. I am just trying to figure out his logic? Maybe you can help him find an internship in the DC area? You know a city where he should probably be instead of Houston. If he had stayed at SU someone would have told him that. LOL

Why do always think because Houston is the 4th largest city it is just the black MECCA. I guess you bought into the BE article. Anyway, why do limit yourself. No one said you had to freelance for Black Mags. You could try some of the big Mags, hell why don't call Oprah and ask for a job on her mag. You think small time. I guess you don't aspire to write for a big newpaper or Magazine. I guess not since you love Houston so much. You would stay there to spite your own career. Don't hold your breath waiting on The Chronicle. Maybe you can work for the advocate and replace Joe S. , then you could bash SU like he does. Remember you are light -skinned, so you'll be ok in BR. SMH
Oh, don't worry about us against Mo Brown. We know our team is not good by any means and the actual shock would be if we win. Kind of like your team. At least SU has a winning basketball tradition. Can you say the same about PV? But you wouldn't know about that. Like I said our program will rise again. Can you even get your program to rise at all. ~snicker~

Look at all the cities he's listed since he's left Houston. What does that tell you about loyalty?
LaCumba, the light skinned administrators at SU stay in Opelousas or La PLace instead of BR. They don't fit in at BR because they don't say "bruh" on a daily basis or have gold teeth.

Now I know what those Aggie calls are for during Texas A&M games. You know, they practice those days before the game at Kyle Field.
I heard one that goes something like this ..... "Aggie, Aggie tow that line, we can pimp PVU anytime"
BTW, I headed to the "mecca" that is Houston's newspaper and low and behold, NO MENTION of the beautiful oasis you call Prairie View A&M. What, they think you are too pretty to touch or maybe they are just like everyone else who doesn't give a _____ about PVAMU! At least we (other HBCU's) care about your Aggie Fuzzyrider arse .....
Oh yeah, BTW, last time I saw Prairie View's baseball and basketball teams, I remember NOT seeing PVAMU on them. Basketball just says Prairie View and baseball says PVU. So, if we don't want to acknowledge our A & M traits, you guys are worse .... you're selective. God knows all of you're teams need some agriculture to build their weak azzes up!
