To all of the Southernites whom turned the baskestball game in The ATL into a festive event. SU over Mo Brown tonight. The biggest story was how the Jag Fans in the stands brought the "good ole" Southern spirit and invoked the MBC faithful to defend their own and show some school spirit!!!!

Tonight was only one more example of why I am proud to be a JAG!!!

The relationship is different little cat. LSU has no hold on Southern. However, Texas A&M can fart and your arse might be out of a fine institution in which to live "luxuriously".

Here's how ....

To rebutte your iditoic points, LSU itself had nothing to do with the lights sent over, which were never used. That was because of the relationship of Skip Bertman and Roger Cador. Get your story straight kid.

Second, LSU can get to 91, 000 seats because of their fans, not because of any inferiority complex with Southern. We (SU'ites) know why our plans have not moved (Hello administration). LSU has nothing to do with that.

However, while you are trying to compare the situations, you forgot that we are NOT apart of any LSU system. You are a part of the A&M system with Kingsville and Corpus Christi. You should be called Texas A&M - Prairie View and you know it. BTW, A&M has a 90,000 seat stadium called Kyle Field. It's beautiful (I've been there.) What does it's baby have? Blackshear? How many can you get into that sardine box? 9,000 maybe with some KY Jelly .....

Let me tell you about Blackshear. (I was there this year for the PV-JSU game). The home side is a set of bleachers with about 12 rows up. You know, the kind you find at some lower tier high schools. There is a little hut at the top for the score keeper. The radio broadcast team sit at a table mounted on top of the last row of bleachers (Yup, they ain't in the pressbox). I ain't never seen no isht like that. The AD stood up 2 rows of bleachers behind me(I guess he did not want to mess up his suit sitting down). The visitor side has about 4 row of bleachers. They are like minibleachers. There are absolutley no lockers at the field. The teams had to walk all the way back to the "baby" Dome at half time. There was only 1 gate open to get in to the place, it was on the visitor side. So you had to walk around the field to get to the home bleachers. My High school staduim is way better than Blackshear. They might as well say they ain't got no staduim.
TAMU-Praire View just needs to shut up on this one.
 
tbf, you mentioned lights.

if you were not correct about the lights, could you say that SU is being used as a storage facility for LSU?

Where are these lights being kept?

Could you enlighten us on the lights thing.

You really should stick to something you may have a chance to know something about... Has your chief administrator (you know the white man) realized any money for your stadium or is it all still going to College Station?

New Stadium = coming soon, very soon. But our old stadium has restrooms and access to lockerrooms unlike yours. We was at the PV game and our players had to leave the facility to use the port-a-pottie!

Gag79, why are you lying about the lights? LSU got new lights and sent the olds one to you all so you could practice when the sun goes down. Those lights sat outside the stadium for 2 years before you hooked them up. Their old AD did that. You all couldn't get any cash to hook them up.

Man, don't you cats pay PF no mind. He can rant and rave all day about SU. The fact remains that they maybe getting some new stuff, but they still have no money(so they say) to award more than 15 scholarships. Blackshear could hold 60k and they would not fill it with more than 10k except Home Coming. I respect PV as an academic school of higher learning and as a HBCU, but your sports programs suck overall. Besides Track , which by the way makes none of our schools any real money is the only program that is consistent. We all know the Football revenues carry pretty much all colleges in 1A or 1AA financial weight for each athletic department. So how much revenue does PV football generate? Just asking? Obviously not enough to fund the other programs and more than 15 scholarships.
As someone posted we know what's our problem at SU. But we fund our programs with the full allotment of scholarships for each sport. PV is still playing this, I don't want to upset master(Tx A&M) demanding for some help. Hell you talk about facilities all you want. It isn't helping you sign not one player for your team. Until you win the SWAC with your 15 scholarship players and make a name for yourself as a winning program again and add at least 30 more scholarships, you will stay mediocre. You can only luck up and get a player of Bobby Perry caliber so often. But I guess he was one of the 15. Hey PF, how many scholarships out of the 15 you have left for this year? Is it 3? 2? 1 and a half?:lmao: Until PV can out recruit SU then PF STFU.:redhot:

Why are encouraging BF/PF? What does the lights have to do with it? We don't claim to have big money like you cats at AAMU do. We know we have problems. Not as many when comes to PF comparing PV to us. We can support 65 Football scholarships. His school can't. So what is this lights nonsense have to do with PF trying to say we have nothing at SU compared to PV or we had no money to install the lights?
That's all right like La Cumba said we'll deal with you in Indy. SMH BTW the lights were not in budget. We are too busy fielding the best baseball team in the SWAC and in all of the HBCUs. Even with no lights. Amenities are nice to have, we all would love to have state of the art facilities(oh, I forgot AAMU does), but it don't mean a thing if you can't win a ring.:lmao:

WE will not talk about their other facilities. Oh man. PV's blow them out of the water. You can tell SU runs from agriculture because they can't do much when it comes to dirt.
 
Again PF, what has those so -called nice amenities done for your sports program? Why haven't you had luck recruiting? You have to crawl before walking. Maybe if you guys take the money you are spending to upgrade all that stuff and fund some more scholarships then you could win some rings. I don't want to hear about no fluke azz SWAC tourney win basketball either. The day PV wins the regular season championship in Football, Basketball, or Baseball, then you can talk. I will take Mumford anyday over Blackshear. Look at TxSU, you don't talk about them. They don't have a football stadium with amenities either. They still share the practice field with the Ocean. They have a nice B-ball arena. Do they have lights at their baseball fields? What about PV? One thing I will give TxSU though, they fund 65 football scholarships and even though their campus isn't as nice as PV's they can compete in the SWAC. They have legitimate chances at winning. Something PV can't say except Track and Field, Volleyball, etc. You know the non revenue making sports.
So hate on SU all you want. It doesn't change the fact that your team will be slaughtered next year in a stadium that you guys don't own. At least we can accomdate folks. It might not be great, but at least other bands don't have to say we can't fit. Even FAMU has come with their 300+. Your commentary is getting sad PF. Hey I have a question when was the last time a player from PV made the NFL, NBA, MLB or even got drafted? The 60s? 70s? 80s?, 90s? Trivia question: What is the only SWAC school that has not put one single player in the NFL in the last ten years? (jeopardy music playing in the background) The answer is What is PV?!!!

I forgot about DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR Bobby Perry, thanks alot. He won that honor despite playing in our "less than adequate" facilties and scholarship situation.

Duh, scholarships are what we need. But facilties would help also attract a better player.

also, when we play you all this year, it just might be on campus. You heard it here first.
