Re: APR

Question.... are players allowed to transfer without penalty over APR issues?

If they are in good academic standing and transfer after the spring the school doesn't get penalized. If they transfer after fall the school loses one point.

Re: APR

the first Toyota Center game in 2004 had about 7K...then the interest dwindled the next year as the teams both were bad and ticket prices were absurd.

thats not what Im asking.. Im asking for example is a Bama state player allowed to transfer to a school who made APR without having to sit out (on the Division 1 level)

but at the end of the day... is there really a difference in not making it to the championship for APR... and not making it to the championship because you just arent that good?

:smh::smh::smh:

This crap is ridiculous! What in the blue h3ll is going on with our men's basketball team? And who is ensuring or assuring these kids make their grades?:upset: Ivory, Hardy, SOMEBODY got some 'splaining to do.....and PDQ!

If it does come down to a vote, I not only hope our new chancellor bans our own team (yes, ban them), but I hope he sticks his foot so far up compliance's a$$ they choke on his shoelaces! And when he's done doing that, I hope he turns around and FIRES THEM! Once is bad enough, twice is beyond unacceptable. I don't need to know a whole lot about sports to know that if you're incapable of being the "student", you sure as h3ll don't get to play the "athlete"!

This is a bad look on my boys, my school, and our HBCUs! And I hope we don't apply for a waiver; accept the punishment that results from the "crime".

Re: APR

Lioness you have to remember this is based on 2008-2012. Not sure how much turnover y'all had but it may be on the upswing already.

Re: APR

This is just a theory of mine, but I think men's basketball APR scores are relatively low across the country. No matter who the school is or how well or poorly they are doing. In general. I'm sure there are some exceptions.

The reason I think this might be true is the AAU system. That system coddles men's basketball players and it's harder to get men's basketball players to act right because they are so used to doing what they want and getting away with stuff.

Like I said ... just a theory. I have no proof to back that up.

I've just seen fans of numerous schools on all levels complaining about men's basketball APR scores and wondered why.

Re: APR

For the folks in BR to say that SU's MBB program had APR problems. :smh: Coach Banks cleared that up on WAFB.

WAFB doing that shat on purpose. They knew SU mens team wasn't banned, yet that's the first story on the 6pm news :smh: . SU just had it's camp. They see what SU is building.

Re: APR

Couple that with Jacques Doucet's little run in on their Monday Night Sports show. lol

What happened, I didn't see it.

When Doucet reported a bs story regarding LSU he was apologizing within minutes of it being released, both on air and social media.

Re: APR

th

Wasn't TxSU facing a ban as well for 2 years? Bama State's football program though. Wow! I didn't expect that one but if you look at Morehead's BB roster you will see 3 players from MVSU who transferred there although the players that graduate won't be held against the former school.

Look at this ...you just could wait to put us in it...Yet I don't see Texas Southern on the list anywhere...gone on with this old shyt...that you don't know anything about how you gonna put up a link about our violations that has nothing to do with the topic at hand and still not know what the hell is going on...:retard:

Damn..... will y'all let that shit go? :smh:

Now you know damn well these folk are :retard:ed

That would be a big NO!!! Remember what I told ya'll when ya'll clowned us relentlessly for weeks?

Sad part is, ya'll had JSU as an example of what could go wrong and ignored it. We told ya'll this day was coming when we took a look at everybodies future score back then. Don't get mad now.

No, they won't.

This is JSU you're talking about.

They are going to hold that grudge forever. FOREVER!!!!!!!!!

which side of the fence are you on...SU peep do the same shyt!

And once again who is this mysterious "y'all" that you talking about? It was proven that it was one poster in particular from PV doing all the finger pointing.

And then not to mention they hired the same compliance director who was at TXSo....Really???? ...Throw the book at all those who voted against JSU...I wish the schools involve nothing but athletic hardship and I hope the kids get with it and get their degrees...Thats it..We(JSU) haven't forgot....

And it looks like this is setup for JSU and SU to save the SCG....can we say another EPIC SCG????

Look at this bullshyt here...just thumping the fingers just to be thumping....Go look at that APR List and tell me where you see Texas Southern...I'll wait...I am not surprise we are not there... we tried to tell you butts that we have our shyt worked out starting from 3 years ago but it would not be seen until now...Now let me clear you up on somethings, the lady Bama St got from us was just hired in May and was not on their staff when they got these numbers...she knows her stuff as she was trained by one of the best and she was apart of keeping us off this list....so know your facts before typing sir...Bama St will be fine as long as they stay out of her way and let her do her job...Ya'll better hope they don't get a wavier otherwise you all will be sitting in front a TV come December!

“We have to make sure that information is accurate,” Barlow said. “Unfortunately, we had one young man, Darius Mathis, where the school had no record of him graduating. His name is in the graduation book, he’s got a picture with the president shaking his hand and (the Mathis family) sent us a picture of his degree, but the school doesn’t have him graduating. When you’ve got those types of issues, who knows what is the real information?...

“I don’t think our people here know how to calculate it, how to keep up with the data. We have 21 guys who graduated from ASU who were never ineligible, but we lost points (for failing to accurately report their academic progress). We had guys who we might have gotten three for four (years’ in points) when he was here the whole time, was never ineligible, played every year and received a degree.”...

Baseball coach Mervyl Melendez had a similar experience...“I think we’re going to be OK,” Melendez said last month. “We have submitted the right numbers. There was a lot of missing information, a lot of frustrating time for me, but our coaching staff did an amazing job of getting all the data to get those points back.”

We can’t even get teachers to put the grades in on PeopleSoft (a software for student administrators). You might have some grades on there, some grades that aren’t on there.”

wow! can we get someone down here from the deans office to get them to put grades in please! This is not a good look
