APR Announced, Including Penalties

What I don't get is the fact that the NCAA took the post season ban off SU KNOWING the incomplete data from the first and maybe the second year (in which SU knew was incomplete ) my question???? is why take them off when you knew all along that the incomplete data would bring down the APR number and put them back on post season ban,, which from BANKS said he knew was going to happen.
My guess was that they didn't want to have us banned 5-6 years in a row so they gave us a 1 year reprieve for their own aesthetic purposes

It sounds like the NCAA has created a way to keep using the same old data to keep SU on a post-season ban. It's like when a Black person goes to prison and serve out their time. They are never given a chance to improve themselves because the system is setup to make sure what they did in the past stays with them.

Aesthetics and NCAA are two words that don't go together (oxymoron), especially how they handled the UNC scandal .

IMO, some of your posts on this thread are diversions, but, you're spot on with your analogy there.

Not diversion, just pointing out the obvious. But SU has to do a better job itself. It's not hard to turn the tables in this modern day with emails, faxes, phone calls, texts, personal visits, etc. SU has to hire someone who's time is devoted to keeping track of what is required of the NCAA. That person would probably have to contact the NCAA three times a day (morning, noon, and evening). They would have to keep a thorough log of what transpired and how they were able to resolve any issues. If the NCAA decides to do some last minute crazy stuff that affects the school's athletic status, at least SU would have a record of how the NCAA is unfairly conducting their business, which SU can present to whatever media source they so desire. As the old saying go, sometimes you have to fight fire with fire.

It's called politics at Southern. I hope the new governor make some good appointments to the board whenever those terms expire. Even when I was there, SU's Faculty Senate has always worked hard to keep the academic side together. SU have/had some really great professors, but its leadership was always in question. Dr. Spikes probably was the only President that left Southern with a likable reputation and from what someone told me on here, she was at odds with our current governor (Buddy Roemer) at that time during her tenure, which is why she retired and left. Politics has always been SU's problem. SU (Alumni, Students, Faculty Senate, etc.) should start now to push for better leaders that those fools in the state capital appoint to the Board.

Same happens with us & Bama State. Confederate politics at it's finest. Stack the board with people who'll carry out the dirty work of the governor

He's working on getting the c**n of the Year Award that you posted in the Small Talk Forum. You have to understand, he's from Concordia Parish, which is where folks like him have to skin and grin in order to survive from day to day. He can't help it, it was how he was raised. And to make matters worst, he grew up in a part of Concordia Parish that had lead in its water system and then moved to Jackson, MS where they have a lead problem too.

And the second part,

sad mane...

It's sad that 90% of the rest of yall sports are banned and all yall can do is blame everyone but yall selves and talk about people's hometowns like yall ' s much better. Well, I said last year that the NCAA HAMMER will fall and I'm still believing it will come.

Now is not the time to get all sensitive when you are on here trying your best to trash others. I'm sure you have realized by now that not only Black people who attended SWAC schools are viewing what's posted on this site. And from my experiences in Concordia Parish, White folks in your hometown have Black folks there well trained.

y'all might as well save your posts about this. You have another 5-8 more years to say how bad SU is with apr. it's never ending. It's the culture on that campus. From Admins on down to the students.
Hmmm, there might be

Dude, Jackson, MS doesn't have a lead problem.

Dude, quit crying wolf. su has only itself to blame right now. The NCAA has given su plenty of time to get it's house in order. They've even been on su's campus IN PERSON multiple times to help it's APR situation get better, but for some odd reason, it's been useless.
It's one thing to blame the White folks when it's legit, but it's a completely different thing to do it when the evidence points elsewhere.

Every post reminds me of this character in Roots.

How many times has the NCAA been on su's campus trying to give guidance and information about how to right it's APR situation? How many times has su officials continued to not take them seriously?
You can only cry wolf for so long until you start looking like those clueless chickens in that photo.

This guy is the biggest diversionary since MH. I wish the NCAA would just give them the death penalty and be done with it.

Lord Jesus don't let the ncaa give SU a wavier. Some of these handkerchief heads will lose their minds
