Ok we want to blame administrators but don't the students play a role in this?
1. You have academic advisers that plan the classes.
2. Student athletes must pass their classes.
3. They progress toward graduation
4. Students graduate
That's the simplistic way to look at it. All this conversation about money and presidents is bullshit.
Furthermore in the Louisiana the GRAD ACT can help a school.
30 x 4 = 120 (that's 5 classes a semester or 10 classes a year
15 hours a semester and no summer courses.
Ok...say a kid goes to summer school and takes 6 hours
3 x 6 = 18
120 + 18 = 138
Per GSU's website a student must complete a minimum of 125 credit hours of course work to graduate.
http://www.gram.edu/academics/requirements/
Let's say a kid plays football.
12 hours in the fall or 4 classes
15 hours in the spring or 5 classes
12 x 4 =48
15 x 4 = 60
Total 108
Summer school 6 hours
6 x 4 = 24
Total 132
So what is so hard for a kid to take and pass 4 or 5 classes a semester?
Some of these problems lie with the student athlete.
