Yeah, Nick won't be at Bama forever, just like Bear Bryant wasn't there forever, or Gene Stallings. But believe me when I tell you that Bama has no intention letting that program go back to the post-Stallings-pre-Saban days. Just as Oregon is gonna go out and get a top notch coach the next time they need one, so will Bama. Nice new facilities are very, very important to attracting a top coach, but so is tradition, fanbase, conference affilliation and prestige. And Bama tops Oregon hands down in those categories.
I don't know how long Saban will be at Bama (hopefully a very long time :emlaugh: ), he could be there another ten years - or he could leave tomorrow. I do know that he could coach another twenty years and still be about the age of Paterno and Bowden when they stepped down. Bottom line is if the Oregon job and the Alabama job both came open tomorrow, which one do you think would attract the highest profile coach? I think you know the answer.
