Yeah, Nick won't be at Bama forever, just like Bear Bryant wasn't there forever, or Gene Stallings. But believe me when I tell you that Bama has no intention letting that program go back to the post-Stallings-pre-Saban days. Just as Oregon is gonna go out and get a top notch coach the next time they need one, so will Bama. Nice new facilities are very, very important to attracting a top coach, but so is tradition, fanbase, conference affilliation and prestige. And Bama tops Oregon hands down in those categories.

I don't know how long Saban will be at Bama (hopefully a very long time :emlaugh: ), he could be there another ten years - or he could leave tomorrow. I do know that he could coach another twenty years and still be about the age of Paterno and Bowden when they stepped down. Bottom line is if the Oregon job and the Alabama job both came open tomorrow, which one do you think would attract the highest profile coach? I think you know the answer.

That is neither the issue, nor the question. The issue was that Oregon would hire a "big name" or "high profile" coach. My point to you is that they just had the opportunity to do that, and instead they got a guy out of the Witnesss Protection Program.

Don't matter who the coach is.

Oregon will never win a Championship until they get some SIZE to go along with that speed on both sides of the ball. Stanford show them this every year. Stanford just keep sending that big O-Line, RB's and TE's str8 at them the entire game. They were shown this in 2 NC games. They can hang with a team that is fast, big and strong on both sides of the ball for 2 qtrs.....Maybe 2 1/2.

Then after them little speed guys on the D-Line and offense get tired of those big redwoods laying on them for a half, they are tired and out of gas. Teams just plow through them after that.

They are great at the skill positions like RB, QB, WR but they are lite where it counts........... D-Line, Linebackers, O-Line and to an extent, the RB position also because they have no BIG BRUSING RUNNING BACKS that can bust someones jawbone coming through the line. They rely on speed way too much at Oregon.

What available big name coach runs a similar offense that Oregon ran under Chip Kelly? The program hired one of his assistants who is well versed in that scheme. The school valued continuity.

You never know. These new and young coaches are just like the kids. They see all the perks and also Bama comes with pressure. You forget how many people turned down that job until they asked Saban about 10 times to come take that job. It is a pressure cooker. Some folks like to make their own name. If you do win a title at Oregon, you will be there forever probably. LOL. Alabama got titles. The next coach after Saban is DOOMED. I feel for him and his family. After Saban, Miles, Urban Meyer, Spurrier, Mack Brown and Bob Stoops. Are there any coaches left who have won national titles (Not counting Chizik)? Saban, Spurrier, Brown, and Miles are not spring chickens. Meyer and Stoops are the next age level right behind them. So we don't know who the next super star young football coach is. Sumlin, Strong, the brother at Stanford? I doubt any of them leave for Bama. Even for Charlie Strong it would be better for him to go to Oregon. LOL.

Those folks just hungry for attention out there. LOL.

They gone win soon frat. That playoff system is going to hurt folks. You will not get a month to prepare for that speed and also rest up and get healthy. Oregon has been right there. One or two plays and they beat Auburn. Wasn't like they got blown out. Stanford is used to playing them. Just like they gave USC fits as well. Your conference teams just have a jump on you. Oregon is getting bigger if you pay attention to their team now. But to say they can't win a title ever no matter who their coach is. That's stretching it. LOL. Saban could go there next year and win. Because kids would really follow him to those kinds of facilities. LOL. Now we know he will not run that kind of offense. But you can win at Oregon.

I would love to see that Boise State coach or TCU coach at Oregon.

I see folks like to continue to prove my theory without even trying. Anybody with a little knowledge of science would know that size and speed creates momentum. They are directly proportional to one another when it comes to momentum, which mean more size (mass) and more speed (velocity) creates more momentum (mass X velocity). If some of our SWAC coaches had the ability to recognize the potentials of taking a big 350 lb. fat body and somehow helping them to create more speed, they might have something that could cause some serious problem for a few adversaries.

How do explain Oregon beating Wisconsin, Utah beating Bama, Boise State beating several BCS schools?
 
Oregon needs the uniforms and facilities just to be on the national stage. Any program that has to poach players from other states. Just like when Colorado had their run. Anybody who has been to Boulder will attest to the place and all the whytedymes.com . But they had to pillage LA for talent. Lots of variables to their downfall but once USC got serious again, they were done. And with runs at Stanford and Cal and UCLA desperate, that has shut down the rest of the PAC. Enough skill guys for the conference but Cali got too many Mexicans on the farm and not enough grain fed white and black boys for front 7 action.

Basically they got out coached. Some times schools do take other schools for granted, but back to size and speed. You do realize more size and speed creates more momentum.

Lol at people still bring up that Utah game. Since that game (January 2009) Bama has gone on to win three National Championships while Utah's players, fans and coaches are still lying on their backs making snow angels in the garbage on Burbon Street celebrating their victory. :lol:

Other than that, they haven't done a dayum thing. :lol:

I think that was because every coach in the nation knew sanctions were coming to the program and they didn't know how bad it would be. If Alabama ever slips up on their cheating ways and Saban leaves, no one is gonna want to walk right into that either.
