AAMU QB SHINES In ALL-STAR GAME

Looks like the kid is a quality recruit. I ain't gonna knock his size. Darnell Kennedy ain't never been accused of being the biggest QB in world. He killed us.

Also, we have already told you that the Mobile QB was only offered a partial from JSU....we really did not need him. He seems good but we needed immediate help. Try to go head up with us for a QB in the next two years and see how it pans out.

You make JSU's recruiting sound haphazard. Why offer a partial to a player that you think can substantially help your team? I would think that you would offer partials only to lower level players that are not expected to contribute much, but are needed for dept and to fill out the roster.

Again, if you don't need a player, why recruit him? If you know that a kid is good enough to get a full ride somewhere, why spend the time and expense to recruit him when you know that you are only offering a partial, which would be rejected in favor of the full scholarship. This philosophy of recruiting just waste the effort and money that could be more effectively used elsewhere.

Don't go head to head with us on recruiting top qb prospects. What reason would a prospect choose JSU over AAMU? Our coach has won championships in the MEAC, and the Heritage Bowl. He's won the Eastern Division of the SWAC. And he has a Superbowl ring. What can JSU's coaching staff offer to counteract that? You may continue to call AAMU smalltime if you like, but you know that AAMU has leaped over JSU and become the premier team in the East.

like I said earlier I have seen him listed anywhere from 5'11 to 6'2 and from 160 to 180.... so you can choose whatever height and weight you want him to be...

on Marylandrivals.com... he is listed as 6'2 170....

That is the thing, he would not have helped our team....we recruited him because he seemed to be a good athlete but we need immediate help...not a HS kid...we have 4 QB's and if I had to do it all over again, I would go the route that Bell took. If one none of these QB's pan out...at least we can't say that Bell did not try.

Tp........
This is the Sports Board and I can't Smack with you here BUT, if I could, you would know that you are full of more S--t than a Christmas Turkey.

Because he is a prop. The kid is not a full academic qualifier. Why would you give a full scholarship to a player who can't contribute immediately (if need be) and is not guaranteed to be able to play the following years? That's stupid.

But be happy with him. That's one on us.

And FYI, we have a RFr. waiting in the wings who's a lot better than he is. And he's eligible.

*lmao* @ the turn this thread has taken....again... :lmao:

I commented on this kid a couple of months ago when everybody was releasing their recruiting classes...

the kid (despite the dispute about his size) is a bonafide D1 talent; He's got all of the instincts great QB's at the D1 level have...He's got a great blend of mobility and accuracy for the position...he's a real playmaker and he's got great leadership qualities...

I've seen this kid on a couple of occasions, as I live here in the DC area...he's the real deal... I'm surprised Ralph Friegden over at UMD didn't recruit this harder a bit earlier, as that was Dorman's first choice of schools (most QB's coming out of the state have UMD on the wish list because of the success the program has had over the past couple of seasons...)

This guy has the chance to be a BIG TIME player at his position in the SWAC, if developed correctly...

This is why we have private forums. All of this bandwidth could have been avoided if only yall would let the guy in.

I'm not disputing the fact that he's good man. And btw, great synopsis! But everyone on this board knows that A & M has had problems developing QB's respectively! :goodbad: You need to look no further than the QB's from the past 3 seasons! :smh: And if this dude is as good as advertised than excuse me *no pun intended*, but A&M's inability not to be able to develop QB's will prove to be the downfall for this kid! :shame:

Chances are this kid wil be moved to the secondary, or as a wideout in 2 years! :retard:

But anyway, kudos! I hope he's elgible come 2-a-days! :headphone

My original question is stilll.....why would a decent QB go to AAMU? You have several other tier 2 schools out there who air out.. And if he is good enough, even a Teir 1 school like TNState could use a good QB.

Why would anyone stick around to play for Bell? Do I need to run down the list of Bell's accomplishments? It's short, but they sure have impressed you for some reason.

I wouldn't have said anything on this thread, but I can't believe that someone that has a coach as bad as Bell. A guy that has no clue even in his specialty, Defense could come on this board and say so many scathing things.

Check this out. jsu did recruit some decent players. Problem is, the great jsu used to bench players for 2 years before they could come in and play. Is it that bad that you are looking for inexperienced players to come in right away to fix your problems? If you think that is your solution, then you are so wrong.

5-6 season at best for jsu and if you lose more than 2 games in September. Start looking for Bell's replacement (I'm sure yall already have initiated the process).

All these comments about a kid that only two people on this board has seen playing in person and the rest just taking stabs. Had I said some of the things that I could say about shortcoming of your recruits. I'd be on here until after Bell's replacements (Yeah, he should be gone by the end of October) first recruiting class explaining why I said them.

Funny how some things only work for jsu and not for others in some of you guys eyes. :smh:

Mike what does having kids sit on the bench for two years before playing have to do with Bell. We have acknowledged over and over again that Hughes destroyed our program and no Bell can't fix it overnight. But as long as our name is Jackson State University, you better believe that it can and will be fixed.

My question has still yet to be answered.

...and Mike I hope that you don't really think that we are going to use freshmen do you?? You need to call your contact. He's slipping.

So in other words, no one should post ANYTHING about a prospective athlete for fear that stupid-pride will turn it into a smack topic? With statements like that, I don't know who's more stupid....you or him.

:smh:

06:
What are you talking about? Are you obsessed with some idea of a private forum? I posted this as information for posters who were interested in freshmen players entering the conference. If you did not want to comment, you did not have to do so. Surely, you have enough will power to resist your hand's urge to type if your mind does not want to do it.

I did not respond to your comment earlier because it was irrelevant to anything being discussed on the thread.

Don't be so sure of that, Oracle! I'm not.

Simmer down, bruh. You know how it gets on topics like these. This is a forum open to readers from all schools, so it makes no sense to get your panties in a bunch when someone critiques your school, players, etc.

And even if stabs are taken, there's no shame in taking the high road, which you all have not. TP simply asked why he would sign with AAMU if he's so good- no harm in that. And the next thing you know someone says something about a "washed up white boy who nobody else wanted". And in actuality, the kid had offers from other respectable I-AA schools- so the smack begins there. You see, you all are just as much at fault, if not wholly at fault all together for the tumultuous turn this thread has taken. And not to mention you, who (as usual) resorts to calling folks stupid.

So either take the high road and roll on or post it in the private forums, if all you want are pats on the back. I don't know how you didn't see this coming, hence my initial post.

LS,

Nothing even remotely resembling smack was posted by anyone until lobo did his usual. Don't even attempt to paint him as some kind of victim. And again, where is it written that no one can post a topic about an athlete coming to their program unless it's in a private forum. Hell, we've had 100 threads started about d@mned Kobe and Shaq over the last month, so why would news and info about any of the league's member schools be off limits?

When I posted that I didn't know who's dumber....you just cleared it up for me. Thank you.
