Re: Goose no longer on SU Staff?
Actually, Byron crabbed in 76. That's a bit before my time but he was definitely a junior when I was a crab in 78. If you talk to him, he will remember me by my crab name, "Chicago." (go figure!)
And yes, Branford Marsalis was DEFINITELY my Crab Brother! As a matter of fact, Branford and I were pretty tight and we still stay in contact with each other. Branford pledged PMA in the spring of '79 -- at the same time I pledged Psi. (Back then the rivalry between PMA and Psi was HUGE!!!)
I saw B in Chicago a few years ago, and guess what? He is now also a member of KKPsi! He did a concert at a College somewhere (a PWI) and they made him an Honorary! He assured me that he is a PROUD Brother but being KKY after all those years of being a "rival" definitely tickled him.
Finally - yes, 78 was a HELLLUVA band! (we actually marched with only 96 one time that year -- long story!) 79 was equally strong and I would KILL for some footage from either year!
I appreciate the love and respect from the younger heads -- ahhh the memories!
