Montgomery AL. Private sales at gun shows are not regulated in Alabama. If you have the cash, you can buy the weapon. I later learned he bought the gun for another cousin in Chicago. I recently read an article in the NY Times that many of the guns used in crimes in Chicago originates in Miss. That makes sense since many blacks in Chicago have ties to the state of Miss.

When Kimberly Common visited her mother in the hospital Monday, the two spoke of how much they missed Common's son, Antonio, who was slain 15 months ago at the age of 23.

By Tuesday afternoon, the family's tragedy deepened as Common's older son, Devin, 27, was fatally shot near their home in the Park Manor neighborhood a little past noon. As she stood on a sidewalk by her son's sheet-covered body, Common recalled his last words to her: "I'll be back. I'm going to the store."

"That's the same thing" Antonio said before he was killed in October 2011, the mother of two other children said as tears streamed down her face.

A little more than two hours later, a 15-year-old girl had also been shot to death, bringing to 42 the number of homicides so far in 2013, making this month the most violent January in Chicago since 2002. The bloody start to the new year comes as the Police Department hoped it had begun to turn the corner after a violent 2012 that saw homicides exceed 500, bringing unflattering national attention to Chicago.

At a press conference a day after meeting with President Barack Obama in the White House along with police chiefs from Newtown, Conn., and Aurora, Colo. — sites of horrible mass shootings last year — Chicago police Superintendent Garry McCarthy expressed concern and regret for the wave of gun violence as January draws to a close. Seven people were killed Saturday alone.

I remember when they showed stats on America's most dangerous streets. If I'm not mistaking, they had two out of the top ten deadliest. One out of every four people were expected to be shot on one street. Children, please stay out of the streets. Exercise and ride those bikes in the house. :shame: What a hell of a way to live.

The top 10 states with each state's corresponding black homicide victimization rate are:

1) Missouri, 33.86 per 100,000
2) Pennsylvania, 26.87 per 100,000
3) Michigan, 26.61 per 100,000
4) Nebraska, 25.58 per 100,000
5) Oklahoma, 25.45 per 100,000
6) Indiana, 23.89 per 100,000
7) Maine, 22.62 per 100,000
8) Louisiana, 22.61 per 100,000
9) Ohio, 19.25 per 100,000
10) California, 19.12 per 100,000

When are people going to start looking in the mirror. Stay yo azz in school, sit yo azz down in class and actually learn something instead of going to class acting a fool. When a teacher call a parent, how bout that parent actually show up and actually take a interest in what they kids do instead of showing up 2 days before the end of school, raising all kinds of hell because PEANUT didn't do his schoolwork all year or has cut class 150 days out of 170 and flunked. How bout these same parents not allowing their 12 to 16 year old kids to run the streets at 2,3, 4 in the morning.

Clowns go out and have 5 kids before they 26 and it's the systems fault. Or even worse, 10 mofos they spread their legs for a clown azz c**n like SHORTY LOW and each kid have 9 brothers and sisters with 10 different mothers counting their own mother. We our own worst enemy but when it comes time to lay blame, all people can do is point the finger at "the system" or outsiderss that don't set foot in our neighborhoods to kill, rob, or terrorize one person in our neighborhoods on a daily basis.

And this is when there was a full gun ban in the city. The problem is obviously deeper than this. It's part poverty. It's part drugs. It's part access to guns (illegally or otherwise). It's part lack of quality education, health care, marginalization, etc. And quite frankly it's part lack of human value. It's just a lot of things.

Isn't it interesting that we can keep jobs out of the inner city but we can't keep drugs, guns, poverty, etc. out? Maybe if it were just as easy or easier to get a sustaining job we wouldn't have these problem.
 
Hell, we have to worry about crime in our own cities, but it appears that everyone will be locked-in on WGN in Chicago. If we all had to bet on whether or not there will be another murder on Chi-Town's news tonight, well! don't worry it will be. I will be watching at 9p.m. cst tonight. The 15yr. old girl was killed one mile from OBAMA's home.

Well, we do know that black people don't control the flow of guns and drugs into America and eventually into inner cities.

Also if you look at the unemployment numbers for young black males in Chicago between the ages of 20 to 24, nearly half those in that group are unemployed. That is just one issue that contributes to this problem.
