I agree but house cleaning on that side of the ball will allow the AD and new HC to pin their fate on what they decide to do with a clean slate on that side of the ball which has been dismal for too long!Hate to see folks get canned, but that offense wasn't very good.
If this is true, it seams to be a sign that Hendricks will be the next head coach.

The players really want him to be the coach

Hendrick stint as coach at Benedict didn’t go so well. Not a single winning season. Maybe he’s gotten better since then. Who knows.
So did Alabama State's current coach.
Why would you listen to the players who lost all those games?
Hendrick had two losing seasons and two winning seasons at Benedict (which isn't a football school).
You’re right. Two 6-5 seasons sandwiched ariund two 3-win seasons.
Yep..we could do worse as has been proven with the last two hires. Hendrick resume is extremely better in comparison. I see it as the safe choice not the BEST choice.
Hendrick would be like Jackson and Hughes — 50-somethings who’ve never been a head coach at the Division 1 level despite decades in the college game.
After five years of stumbling around, JSU can’t go with safe. Safe sends the message that the program is content with just being good enough and not great.
What about Will Hall?
Hendrick would not be a bad hire imo. Not a sexy hire but I would feel better than when we hired OMJ (that was a sad day for a brother) and I was skeptical about Tony Hughes.

Good! They sucked. they’ll find jobs. They always do.
