MS HIGHSCHOOL FOOTBALL 2015

Man I left Olive Branch game at halftime. vs Brentwood Academy.. Lawd they were down 41 gump at the half...Long way to go before they're a contender again...

Olive branch has went down the last couple of years. Unlike SP were Mon and dad move to memphis but send their kids back to their hometown to stay with uncles or grandparents, OB got looked at for str8 recruiting from memphis and the blue springs area. They could not prove any wrong doing but that is where OB was getting all them king sized linemen. They watching their buts now.

More than that. You open up two Highschools and fire your most successful coach you have to rebuild. Olive Branch feeds, Olive Branch High school, CenterHill High school, Lewisburg High school and Desoto Central High school. Also Northpoint Private School which is down the street from Desoto Central. When Olive Branch was winning those schools didn't exist or they were sorry. Now Desoto Central, Centerhill and Lewisburg winning and OB sucks. They fired the new coach last year so they're on the 3rd coach in three years....They'll win some games but Brentwood look like TSU vs JSU 2014....Bigger , stronger and faster. I've been in OB over 10 years now and I've never seen and OB team look that bad.. Oh they have no brothers on that sideline either(Coaches)...The Oline coach looks like he's never played any organized sport in his life, not even band...LOL

Oh yeah they fired Samsel becuase he was stealing Memphis's best players from the City Schools. It was more so their parents but he was helping. And some mis appropriations of funds...

Jumping right in on a big game right off the bat.
UNIVERSITY OF SOUTH PAOLA vs CLINTON.........6A

SP bounced Clinton out the playoffs last year with a last play int to win by 2 points. Cam is back at QB(jr) for Clinton. He made his verbal to Alabama last week. Choices were Ms State, LSU, Alabama......... basically the entire SEC. He is that good. Started as a 9th grader. Went 11-2 last year. About 6'2".......205lb.

1st link is CLINTON VIDEO report from WLBT............
2ND link is for the live stream of the game THURSDAY.....AUG. 20

6a Tupelo lost to Clarksdale 28-25
My Warriors from Pontotoc lost to Houston 17 -0 smh

That and families moving to Desoto County. SMH

This here.

I'm glad to see yall are getting back to where yall were as well. I'm glad we stopped playing yall (and South Paniola) when I made it to HS lol.

Hopefully the Delta can start back sending teams to Jackson... I mean the state (f the state being at UM and MSU) for football (I don't count Charleston and South Panola as full fledged Delta teams)

What's happening to OB is what happened to Madison Central when Ridgeland opened, and now Germantown HS out in Gluckstadt. Gluckstadt and Ridgeland city limits was all MC's feeding ground. And they would slip into Canton and Flora and get players like Parys Harralson who played for the 49ers and now The Saints. In any given year, they'd have 4-5 NFL players on their team.

You my friend have said a mouthful. Now I love my EAST SIDE TROJANS but we have got to get over the hump.... I mean three straight seasons and nothing to show for it dayum! But the Trojan faithful are expecting great things this year!!

Charleston is moreso the Delta than say a South Panola. However, West Bolivar was really tough under coach Johnson. I don't know what to say about Eastside with the talent that they consistently have. But their losses in my opinion is coming down to that battle in the trenches. I think Coach Johnson can help get Clarksdale back where they belong. Other than that, what else do we have in the delta. A lot of smaller schools with the talent spread out.

Ray Brooks won the state 1-2 times for a short period and then they tapered off.

Shaw also made it to Jackson recently from the 1A ranks like Ray Brooks

Greenwood made it to the North State finals last year with Chambers at QB (glad he ended up coming to Valley)

Eastside. I don't know what to say. They got close one year and make it to the playoffs but as most Delta teams do when they get to the playoffs, those hill town schools just whoop up on us outside of Charleston and South Panola. My HS (Ruleville) has been the same way from the time I was in school to the Noah Ingram teams to now. I know in our case, we just don't have the big time booster clubs to give what those players need (although one girl I went to HS and Valley with married that Jackson RB that played for the Packers when they won the SB and he helped out with unis and stuff for a while)

Honestly.
That really is not a upset.
Clarksdale lately has been a team nobody really want to play if you a larger school. Just like 2a Bassfield. They will flat out beat you.

The Delta really don't have that many football powerhouses outside of Clarksdale, Charleston, East Side, Rosedale, and Ray Brooks. The Delta's problem is we have too many schools. There is no reason that every town in Bolivar County has a high school. If there were 2-3 high schools in Bolivar County, those squads would be a beast.

Greenwood had some straight up beasts at the DE spots last year. One is a senior this year. Not sure where the other one went but he's graduated. They had 40 or 50 sacks between them last year.

I could not agree more with that statement. That is our problem in the Delta.

This did a feature on the senior DE. 6'5 240 with 27 sacks last year. He said he's going for 40 this year. He's got some offers (hopefully Valley has slipped him on the low just in case) but we'll see how that goes (because we know how Delta athletes and grades are)

That's a Bolivar County thing lol. Bolivar County has SEVEN high schools but has less people than Washington County (which has 4 public high schools and private St. Joe). None of the other Delta counties have more than 3 (Coahoma, Leflore. Issaquena doesn't have one). The only way I disagree with it is if they are only merging Delta counties and not the rest (i.e. you will never hear about West Tallahatchie merging into the Charleston/East Tallahatchie SD. "they" ain't having that)

The state consolidating this smaller/failing districts could alleviate this BUT the state has to fully fund this schools instead of crying broke and trying to merge good school districts into bad ones (like they tried to merge Greenwood into Leflore County before they blocked it)

Can someone from the Delta please explain to me what happened to my alma mater, Greenville Weston (really don't understand adding Weston to the name) High School. I graduated in 1990 and we were on a decline then, but they had changed coaches and that was kinda expected. But to only have 1 or 2 winning seasons since the late 80's is absurd. I get to homecoming every year and the kids are looking smaller and smaller. The crowds are smaller and smaller. GHS was nice back in the day. Always had D1 talent and now it's a shame what has happened.

You have to ask DGTM about that for specifics.

Usually the large towns in the Delta can field nice teams simply because they have more resources (i.e. GWHS will have more than Riverside or O'Bannon or Gentry having more than Ruleville) but I honestly can't explain why GW hasn't been competitive like the other schools in the large towns (Greenwood, Gentry, Cleveland High/Eastside, Clarksdale and of course South Panola)
