Jumping right in on a big game right off the bat.
UNIVERSITY OF SOUTH PAOLA vs CLINTON.........6A

SP bounced Clinton out the playoffs last year with a last play int to win by 2 points. Cam is back at QB(jr) for Clinton. He made his verbal to Alabama last week. Choices were Ms State, LSU, Alabama......... basically the entire SEC. He is that good. Started as a 9th grader. Went 11-2 last year. About 6'2".......205lb.

Clinton has to be able to contain USP in the trenches along the offensive and defensive lines. South Panola is without their QB and they will definitely stick to their bread and butter which is the run game and a strong Defense.

#10 filled in nicely at QB for SP.
Clinton lost this game on 3 plays.
#1....SP took the opening kickoff 103 yards for a TD.
#2....SP QB took it 87 yards for a td right up the middle.
#3....Clinton threw the exact same type of int at the goal line that bounced them from the playoffs last year.

Cam was Cam.
Clinton just played poorly in the first half and fell behind 21-6 I think. Final score was 35-25 SP. They will meet again in the playoffs. SP will be there and Clinton will win 10 games this year.

Clinton was doomed for the beginning and come on now Team Captains from Clinton High didnt shake hands from the Coin Toss and LOST! keep that up this will not be there only Lost this year, All of the schools have improved. When you send a message not to shake hands sends an automatic message to the other team Wartime and it gets your blood pumping......
 
Good Stuff @jstate83 I knew South Panola was not going to throw the ball. They put their best athlete at QB and went from there. Cam Akers is the real deal no doubt and they will be there in the end.

I bet they felt humbled and stupid when SP to that opening kickoff to the house.
 
SP gone get beat by a good passing team that stacks the box. Do they have a Hoover type team on their schedule this season? If so they're in trouble. The last time they were this one dimensional they got beat bad by Hoover...
 
They have Meridian next week, lets hold tight. Everyone's defense will not let that QB run wild like that. I watched the game SP is not as dominant as in the past....They better find some pass plays...
 
They will find a way to incorporate some pass but they are one dimensional right now because the Coach's son is out. That was their starting QB. Run it until someone stops it. Their defense will keep them in the games and they know how to close out games.

Clinton vs South Panola has got that heated since they were both put in the same class and region. Clinton will be shaking hands with their other opponents. That was rleally not shocking to see since SP been talking trash to them for the last week.

SP was a little ticked off that out of 2 teams Clinton could have started the season with, Meridian or SP, they choose SP. LOL

They had a overflow crowd of 10,000 plus for the game in clinton complete with a pre game fly over from 3 WW2 MUSTANG fighter planes. Lol

The crowd was like OH CRAP.
Then the crowd was like OH SHAT when the BACKUP Qb took it 87 yards to the house on SP 3rd possession. Dude ran for 322 yards and 3 TDS.

MOST of SKIP damage was done in the 1st half. The second half saw Clinton's defense wake up. They actually started putting SP on their azz but the hole they were in was to big to over come even with CAM AKERS rushing for 173 yards, 3 TDs, and another 128 passing and a td.

Not gonna happen.
When SP played HOOVER those 2 years, they had zero QB talent. They used the SS CONNER as qb. Everybody stacked the line after Hoover.

SP has 2 real qb that can back the defense up if they need too like they did before 2010. This guy was the backup. Their startertransfered from a private school up there last year. When he get back SP is really going to light things up. Out with minor shoulder injury.
 
I dont know what MHSAA got against Madison Central.

They got the toughest schedule in all of Mississippi football. Their first 5 games are against Super 10 poll teams. Lol

South Panola's starting QB is the Coach's son. Tyler Pogue. He is out with a Torn ACL which happened in April.
 
Madison Central created that Schedule..LOL.... I don't know why but they could easily start the year 0-7 but they will beat Brandon...

Ok........so the transfer Is gone.
Dont matter. SP and clinton is only going to get better. Meridian will be a beast too.

My dark horse this year is GERMANTOWN. In just 4 years of existence, that school is mega sized now playing in 6a. Half of the talent that used to be packed at Madison Central have no choice but to attend Germantown now if they live in that district. They made the playoffs last year and lost in a opening round contest.

The last class of kids that had a choice of which school to go to graduated last year. If you were 9th grade and attending Madison Central when Germantown opened, you could still elect to go to Madison central until they graduated. Thats over now.
 
Yeah. I think Germantown is in 5A. I don't think they made the jump to 6A yet. But they are a sleeper in 5A. However, Oxford and Laurel are loaded. then you have Wayne County and Hattiesburg who are 5A.

But 6A is going to be toughhhhh again this year. its going to come down to SP, Starkville and Clinton out of the North.
