Re: Alabama State Looking To Leave The SWAC? I think so, the handwriting was on the

 this is a message board you do realize that Right? You and this 55 year complaining crap sounds very moronic, considering you know nothing about JSU and their disposition with the SWAC conference over the last 55 years beyond TSPN. But for message board and entertainment sake I will answer your question by saying the necessary steps are being taking to further advance JSU athletics by our president and her administration...THE END. as long as Meyers heads the ship it will happen...

Also to anyone who says that the Sunbelt isn't a step above the SWAC cant be taken serious...Our laughable OOC record against Sunbelt opponents in any sport can support they are in a better position in terms of athletics!

You know y'all always have the option of going independent prior to leaving the SWAC for another conference. Again I ask, what's holding y'all back?

You don't heard anyone from Southern complaining like you folks from jSU.

Whatever dude, you couldn't even type this sentence right. Thats how I know you're lying lol

You don't heard anyone from Southern complaining like you folks from jSU.

Like playing in the SWAC is soooooooooooo much better at a lower level.

Told you JR.
people here scoffing at the sunbelt and there is not a team in the SWAC that would come close to beating any of them.

I am taking the High Road in this thread. No comments Frat. LOL.

Does this sound better? You haven't heard anyone from Southern complaining about being in the SWAC. Now if I'm lying, please provide proof. :smh:

Re: Alabama State Looking To Leave The SWAC? I think so, the handwriting was on the

So, what are you going to do about it? Bytch about it for another 55 years or man up and go find that progressive conference that would grant your school membership? :smh:

Keep building with the end goal of MOVING OUT or UP in the furture instead of posting "crab in a barrel" crap about schools that are actually thinking about it and planning for it one day in the future. That is what JSU is doing. That is what Bamma State is doing. What is SU doing? That is what you need to be worried about and focused on. :smh:

Ya'll can sit pat and stay in the same place ya'll was 30 years ago. But you will miss the point just to scream out a total lie about someone byotching about joining a conference 55 years ago. Ya'll do SU and let everybody else worry about what conference will offer us an invitation once we ready to go in that direction.

Have fun sitting in the same dang place ya'll were 50 years ago and have fun sitting in the same place you are now 50 years from now while the rest move on to better things.

But I'm through.

But I told you.

Got people in here with minds so wired backwards, they are honestly locked into thinking the SWAC is the best they can do. Always talking that shat about "who would want you" and nobody has even tried to make a move yet.

Just a plain ole defeated "white man ain't gonna let us" attitude.
That crap JAG89 posted ain't even smack...........It is quite sad actually because he honestly believe it. Negros hate to see another black even try to move in a upward direction. :smh:

The MAJORITY of Southern folks are like the MAJORITY of fans in the SWAC. They ain't interested unless we can field teams that can beat the SEC caliber schools. You know that. That's the only way you will get the MAJORITY of your alums or fans to buy in. Most will not show up to games we play schools in those smaller conferences unless you are winning. If you are getting kicked to sleep then you know the rest. You think some stadiums are empty now. I keep telling you folks on TSPN represent the minority opinion of your schools and fans. LOL. I wish Bama State all the luck and success if that is what their school administration and alums/fans want to do. Then you do it and do it well. Same for any school.

I have always thought a Super HBCU conference would be the way to move up. But that is just me. I am not anti moving up. Just would be better if you had a coalition of HBCUs trying to make the move. But if you can't get that and have the resources to move up to a FBS conference. By all means do it.

Frat, you think these are the only folks who feel that way here on TSPN? I would be willing to bet a paycheck, the majority of our fans( alot of them who never even went to our schools) and even some of our alums are just not down with it. Especially the older money alums who still hate the white man. LOL. You know them types. We all got them. Now I am not saying don't move up or try. At least research it. I think all HBCUs who are able should at least research the idea and get the facts to support a move up. Make sure you have huge alumni and fan support. Because those are the folks who are going to give you dollars so you can compete at that next level. They have to support and be interested. They can't get mad and not show up at a game because it is at 3 pm or even earlier because whatever conference you play in has a TV deal that does not put them on prime time. A lot of variables have to be thought of and OUR BLACK FAN BASE has to change their mentality about only showing up for schools they hate/rivals/bringing their band/ etc.... you know.

All you said is good, but the bytching and whining doesn't help y'all cause. I'm sure Southern is considering moving up someday, but instead of bytching and whining about our current situation, we would rather move up and then say the SWAC was a stepping stone for greener pastures.

Re: Alabama State Looking To Leave The SWAC? I think so, the handwriting was on the

Every thread on here basically turns into JSU vs everybody else... no matter what the subject is.

The only way to break that attitude is to do it and tell mofos to either get on the boat or be left at the shore. I hate so-called fans like that. I understand not wanting to see a game between JSU and Lincoln. But if you don't go to a game where a team like McNeese, San Houston, SFA, etc, ........those type of teams, are the opponent just because they ain't a HBCU, you ain't no sports fan.

Who is byotching and whinning?
JSU's plans are out for everybody to see. We ain't trying to get left behind any further. The only byotching being done is by posters here that take any comment that a JSU poster make and turn it into smack or White man gonna get us thread.

We was talking about Bamma State and who can move up or is trying to move up and now once again, it is SU posters talking about JSU 55 years ago. :smh:

I agree Frat. Unfortunately a lot of our fans in HBCU land are not real sports fans. Look at the MEAC attendance numbers.

Yep this is it^^^^ our fans follow trends. Only a few are real sports fans.

The UTURN this thread has taken is funny and sad....Folks in here saying the SWAC is better than the SunBelt get Real. We got teams in this conference who cant even beat a bottom feeder D2 program :shame:...And that mess JAG89 posting is non other than barbershop BS with no facts to back it up!

You are right JR majority of the fans in the SWAC aint interested in moving up and being progressive. So to say "what are you gonna do about it" like jstate83 is the president or AD is a WEAK attempt to say "I dont know what im talking about so I will put it back on you"...But if you dont know C.Meyers she is serious about this dome and changing JSU perception and athletics...So serious that the typical SWAC Fan or Adams Corner JSU fan wouldnt like her. She talked about leaving the conference in 2011 at a spring alumni meeting off the record...The changes being made at JSU arent being mad to stay in the Old SWAC/HBCU world of thinking she is making serious moves......

A Super HBCU Conference would be great with the right leadership which seems to be a problem in this conference and the MEAC...So why would anyone want to stay to deal with more old negro idiot presidents and their do-boy Commissioners....Only a few schools could do it from a financial standpoint any way.

Yep the Super HBCU conference package would be the best way to go for the overall picture but like you said LEADERSHIP is needed and VISION is needed. Our leadership hasn't been serious about anything for a while.

Re: Alabama State Looking To Leave The SWAC? I think so, the handwriting was on the

TN State is and should be the model we all look at in terms of leaving an HBCU conference...Their home games were well attended this year partially because it was in The Hole this year but they have the largest budget in terms of athletics than any HBCU, they have the best facilities among HBCUs close second would be Bama State and they have done well....

There problem is they have a weak fan base period even when they do play a HBCU, folks still do not attend their games here in Nashville they would rather tailgate. The Southern Heritage is more of a home game for JSU than TSU because their fans just dont show up!

Like previously stated, there's no need to put the SWAC down when you are unhappy. I'm sure long after the current 10 schools are long gone to greener pastures, there would be other HBCU schools seeking membership in order to make it to the next level. But as always, too many Black folks like destroying whatever process that was used to get them to next level, such as Clarence Thomas.

Re: Alabama State Looking To Leave The SWAC? I think so, the handwriting was on the

We can all look at TnSU as an example. From the outside looking in and not doing any research, TnSU athletic program is looking better and better each year. In order to consider moving up, we have to start integrating, Im talking all races. We need diversity. I think thats where its starts, with the actually people.

That is the same way I see it, JR. A bunch of HBCU's make the jump together. Get a better TV deal, better sponsorships....split the bottom-feeder bowl game payouts for a few years and work our way up from there. Most of us that post here will support our school regardless of who we play. But if we played home games against Arkansas State and UL-M, how much will the majority of our alumni-base will get amped for that?
