I don't roll with stupidity.
However, it would be impossible for anyone with a relationship to Grambling State (or any school for that matter) to play morality cops when more than likely their own schools had its own share of past transgressions as well.
Heck, Grambling State just rehired Patricia Bibbs. The same woman who in the mid-90s committed so many NCAA violations during her first stint that the women's basketball SWAC championship was stripped from the team. Why wasn't Breedlove and the mayor up in arms over that since they care about morality and character so much?
And the whole idea of taking winning seriously is the reason why coaches break rules or feel they can get away with breaking the rules. Everyone associated with college athletics (fans, alums, boosters, media) contribute to this.
We care too much about winning, records and bragging rights whether we support Grambling State or Penn State. We've given these programs and people way too much power with our undying reverence for them.
And now a city government official is getting into this act. There are far greater injustices than a college football wins record to tackle (no pun intended).
These people are in same boat as those morons at Penn State guarding and weeping over the Joe Paterno statue.
Must be election year or something cause for him/her to bring this up was really dumb and embarassing. She/he needs to focus on Grambling's struggling economy and fans not showing up for games.
