Re: TSU BANNED!

CLEB just be thankful, they actually took a little of the attention off of the problem. No school or program deserves to be crucified and pulled through the mud constantly when they know their own problems and it sad that JSU people are actually getting a kick out of this, just because a few from Texas Southern ridiculed JSU when the shoe was on the other feet but two wrongs don't make a right. That kick them when their down bs is sickening. White colleges do it all the time but its sad that our own are at each others throats.

Dude go back into hibernation or somewhere with that BS. Where was all this enthusiasm when folks were dogging out JSU? Huh?!

Now you on here trying to condemn somebody, you and that that paperboy?
Where was all this when JSU was being dragged through the mud and ridiculed in thread after thread? Yall sound like major hypocrites.

Re: TSU BANNED!

If someone created a thread about butterflies, puppies and ice cream leave it to some folks to fukc that thread up. :smh:

Tell us how TSU will manage to jump from 811 to 930 in one year. Your honest response should help get things back on track in this thread.:emlaugh:

Re: TSU BANNED!

I had this same conversation with my son when he was at sTu. He was against open enrollment. Some children mature later than others and really do not understand the significance of education until later in life. That is why you see older folk, for the most part, doing better when they return to college than when they initially went. They have higher GPA's and are more focused. So, should we blame a university for seeing a need and trying to fulfill the need or should we hold accountable the persons who squandered an opportunity that most, if not all, PWCs would never give them. Class-ism exists....whether at a PWC or HBCU.

Remember while you gloat that the only reason HBCUs exist is because PWCs would not have us and because they said we could not be educated.

Nonchalant, I mean no harm when say this, and I'm puzzled why you would say that when it has been said numerous times that open admission/open enrollment/open door policies adversely affect retention and graduation rates. It is for that reason that Texas Southern along with other HBCU(S) had to abandon those type of policies. If Texas Southern is at fault for anything, it is for providing an opportunity to those that would not otherwise have been given a chance elsewhere. And, even then, I wouldn't say it was Texas Southern or any other institutions fault that operated under that type of policy, but instead the fault of those individuals that were given a chance but failed to capitalize on it.

You know as well as everybody else that APRs are averaged over four years. One of those years that now factor in would come off next year so why would you even throw something like that out there....Oh, My bad.....I know.

Today my wife attended a memorial for her deceased Aunt. Her aunt enrolled as a freshman student at the age of 63 years old. She went back to school after making sure all three of her children had graduated. Her aunt graduated and actually became a teacher in the same school she had worked as an aide for 30 years. I doubt seriously if this would have come to fruition if it was not TSU open admission program. This is the type of person the open admission policy was designed to help.

Re: TSU BANNED!

Not trying to be funny but given some of our schools' track records in the last 10-15 years, I can see why politicians and tax payers (both Black and White) want some of our schools to be either closed or merged. Just keeping it 100, if the retention/graduation rates are low, you have multiple presidents in a decade, have had financial mismanagement, low fund raising, and/or no competent leadership with vision, the public's opinion is that your school is a waste of tax payers' money....especially if your school is located within close proximatey to PWCs.

Bingo. Taxpayers are tired of the stupidity but alums continue to parade around like the school is economically "viable." :D

Exactly.

This is why I :shame: when I see our alumni/constituents protesting when the ish hits the fan. Knowing our schools' track record, we need to be protesting at the chancellor/president's mansion, instead of protesting on the governor's mansion. What the hell sense does that make?

+1 Non. Also, ask the good folx of sTu. But, don't ask the other 90% of their incoming because they're mentally inept.

Even if one of the four years were removed, it would still be a gigantic leap in APR points to jump from where you are now to 930. That's why I threw it out there.

Now can you help Cleb out by explaining how TSU is guaranteed to make it past 930 in less than one year?

You're asking a redundant type question JRob. :| It's fairly obvious they have a problem w/ math in that part of the country.

Re: TSU BANNED!

Hey, it's quite simple. Texas Southern has made it's bed and now it has to lie in it. Texas Southern has closed open enrollment effective Fall 2008 no longer allowing those without the required academics enrolled without going thru the summer prerequisites and if they don't meet those requirements, they are not allowed to enroll in the fall and are directed to the local community colleges. Hopefully, we'll see them back in a year or two once they get their academics up.

Along with a previous administration (Athletic Director, Compliance Director, etc...) that was totally incompetent that spent over seven years directing us off course. Now with our current administration who are trying to right this ship will take them some time to correct those seven years of missteps.

Honest question. How many students that attend, attended and even graduated from Prairie View A&M are from the Houston metropolitan area?

Have you always had that "victim" complex?

Re: TSU BANNED!

Not to mention that president from Mississippi

Wow.

Honestly, I have no desire to clown TSU. I really hope that they and everyone else gets their houses cleaned soon. Enrollment issues, mismanagement issues, athletic issues, graduation/retention issues, and fund raising issues by our schools are not going to be tolerated much longer. We've gotten away with "marching" for a while by its not going to fly much longer. Even Black people are now disgusted with what has/is going on at our schools. Totally preventable.

Re: TSU BANNED!

Ive always said that JSU should leave the SWAC. The SWAC has outlived its usefulness. Im tired of JSU carrying the SWAC but as soon as SWAC schools get their first chance they turned their backs on JSU. All of them did. SU would have done the same thing if their APR numbers werent similar.

JSU should immediately go independent in football. We can surely survive without these type schools who only bring us down. SWAC schools are terrible and JSU wont ever get better if we keep judging ourselves by SWAC standards.

I wish you had some type of clout at jsu and do what you say above. You can leave the Swac in all sports, the Swac does not have non football schools in it. But your school can't leave since they have no where else to go unless they go down....

Jesus man can some of you just pretend you don't

Don't they.........The Usual Suspects.....

What's sad is that some posters know what's going on at their schools yet they still talk sh*t on TSPN.

 but :shame:

And the biggest shyt talkers are? It's a rhetorical question.....
