It isn't, because TCU was very close to playing in the National Championship game. Had Alabama not choked against Auburn in 2010, TCU would have probably ended up playing Oregon for the title.

You need to stop making too much sense lol. :lol: They don't wanna get it. Boise State played one decent team, and then a bunch of scrubs, nothing more than scrimmage games. With the physicality of playing in a tough conference like the SEC, that shit wears you down playing those hard hitting teams week after week. Boise State doesn't have to deal with that with their weak schedule. Let them come to the SEC West and get knocked around like a ping pong ball, and we'll see how good they really are.
It's like a boxer who has a perfect record when he fights nothing but scrubs, against a boxer that has a 1 loss record when he's fighting much tougher opponents. That boxer with that 1 loss record will get more respect.
Same with women's tennis. A lot of those women tennis players play a lot of matches and tournaments against cupcake opponents to get their rankings up because it's based on a point system. Then they come to the bigger tournaments and play opponents like Serena Williams and get that ass tapped like they stole something lol. :lol:
Like you said earlier, you get rewarded for your resume. A student with a 3.8 GPA in a major like computer science, electrical engineering, or physics will impress me more than someone with a slightly higher GPA in general studies.
That's why those with the harder majors tend to make more money. It's common sense really.

It is possible because you have a smaller number of colleges in Major college football than Basketball. You don't have to have a tournament as large as basketball 12 teams max

You guys have been brainwashed. I love that you've used boxing as an analogy because it has become a joke in the same way that NCAA football has. In boxing you may have a fighter with all the talent in the world forced to fight scrubs because they are not with a certain promoter. Promoters get rich by making their fighters fight each other and claiming they are th best. Sounds familiar. The household names stay in the mix while the new kids on the block get shut out. How is that fair?
So it makes sense to you to have a computer use statistical data choose who plays for a championship??? If the NFL did that we would be outraged. You wanna clean up college football you do the following
1. Take away the polls and computers as decision makers
2. Place more weight into the conference champs
3. Have a playoff
That's how sports work.

Once again, do you really think the conference champs are the best of the best? Conference champ of conference USA is not better than the 3rd best team in the SEC. You don't get the best teams that way. I'm all for a playoff system, but when you're in a stacked conference, it's not right to leave out someone out who clearly is better than the conference champ of a weaker conference.
Every school can't be in the SEC or the B1G or Big 12 or Pac-12 to begin with. So there will always be disparities in conference strengths across the board. Instead of moaning and crying about it, win your conference. No, win your division. You can't penalize Houston, Northern Illinois and Boise State because Alabama failed to win the SEC West.
That would be like NFL telling the Seattle Seahawks they couldn't participate in the postseason last season because it wouldn't be fair to those teams in from perceived stronger NFC divisions.
You sound like a cat who love to only see schools from BCS conferences have a shot at the national title and forget everyone else who doesn't play in a "stacked conference"

IMO the Seahawks didn't deserve to be in the NFL playoffs last year but they knocked off my New Orleans Saints fair and square. Did that kill the NFL? No. It actually made it more interesting. There have been years where the San Diego Chargers had a great record, was the number one offense and defense in the league and didn't make the playoffs. I remember a few times when Conference USA had teams that could compete with ANYBODY. That's why you have the Wild Cards. That way you can get some teams that may have fallen short. Another thing to look at is that with the BCS lets say you have a team like Bama who lost to LSU. We know Bama can probably beat anybody in the Nation still including LSU. With the BCS if Stanford or Oki State wins out Bama wouldn't have a chance at a National title because they only lost a reg season game. At least with a playoff teams will get a chance to actually fairly compete for the title.
Man, teams from the Big 12, ACC and Big Ten have blown out in the national championship game over the years, but yet NOBODY would throw a fit if schools from those conferences played in the BCS title game.
But nooooooooooo, we can't allow a school from the Mt. West or WAC in the game even though those two conferences have a combined record of 5-2 in BCS bowl games. It wouldn't be fair to the schools who play in stacked conferences. LOL

I don't know how many times I have to say it lol. I am all for a playoff system. All I'm saying is that don't exclude a team just because they didn't win their conference. I hope Boise State ends up in the Sugar Bowl against the 2nd best SEC team so they can get kicked to sleep and put this debate to rest lol.

Well let me ask you this dude. Should all the undefeated teams be tied for the #1 ranking? I mean they are undefeated right, so why have one ranked higher than another? It's not that way because strength of schedule does matter. We'll see how good Boise State really is when they move to a more competitive conference, where they're forced to play tougher teams week after week instead of once a season.

Should all unbeaten teams be tied for the No. 1 spot? Yeah, why not? I don't think it is fair that one-loss or two-loss teams are ranked ahead of unbeaten teams. Boise State and Houston and whoever else is unbeaten should be ranked ahead of Bama or other schools with a loss. Again, if the regular season is a defacto playoff under the BCS system, then no way should Bama be ranked No. 3 in the BCS standings.
Why are you demanding Boise State play in a tougher conference? It's not like playing in the WAC or the Mountain West has allowed them to waltz right into the national title game over the years instead of schools from major conferences. If anything people like you have kept them out of it, because of biases against the conference they call home.

Dude, even Boise State realizes they should move to another conference to help their case, which is what they are doing by moving to the Big East. Why don't you go ask them why they moved conferences instead of staying in the conference that they are in? Since you think all unbeaten teams should be ranked #1, do you think the University of Houston could beat Alabama if they played tomorrow? How much money are you willing to put down on it? LOL!! Look at the NCAA basketball tournament. They have seeds for a reason. You have conference winners that are seeded lower than at large teams that didn't win their conference. Next you're gonna say that all conference winners should be ranked higher than all non-conference winners, LOL!! So if Duke edges out UNC in the ACC, and JSU wins the SWAC and has a better record, should JSU be ranked higher than UNC in the NCAA tournament? LOL!!!! :emlaugh:

Can't play anyone when they will not play you. Boise St. threw out a challenge to play any one on their field and did not want a return game, no one took the offer.

You're saying that a FBS school that wins it's conference shouldn't have any chance at a title due to folks assuming that their conference isn't strong. Hell for all that why not move the perceived lesser conferences down to FCS??? Boise St is jumping conferences for the same reason everyone else is. The system is jacked up. Read up on Notre Dame's sweet BCS deal called "The BCS Notre Dame Rule". The seeding could be determined by polls (cancel the poll until week 8. No preseason polls). Each conference Champ gets in the Playoff while 2 teams get a wild card. That's fair. With the BCS you don't get that much of a chance at the title.

What games were you watching?
2010-2011: Auburn and Oregon came down to the wire
2009-2010: Only became boring because Colt McCoy was injured early
2008-2009: Florida and Oklahoma was a very competitive game
2007-2008: LSU and Ohio State was a pretty good game until late in the 2nd half
2006-2007: Yes, Florida completely destroyed Ohio State beginning in the 1st quarter. But I enjoyed every minute of it. lol
2005-2006: Texas and USC was probably one of the best games ever in college football.

Have all of the conference champs receive an automatic bid, but have some at-large bids as well to make sure you aren't leaving out a team like Alabama or Arkansas because they just so happen to play in a super difficult conference.
