I'm not saying on a monthly basis. LOL Once a year most grandparents would love it. I know my mom does.
I'm not a big fan of dumping kids off on the grandparents. I can see doing that for a trip that would really be a one-on-one thing (second honeymoon, etc.), but I can see where resentment or other issues can kick in if we made that a habit.
I know a woman back home who is like 45-50. She has been married for like 30 years...her kids are grown and she has grandkids but her husband been cheatin on her for that whole 30 years and she been fighting other women that whole time. As recently as two weeks ago, her husband's newest woman had to put in a restraining order on her because she kept turning up everywhere the woman and her husband was.
She too old for that!
Nah, that ain't about age. She's just stupid and has been since Day 1 of acceptance of her husband cheating.
Many of our grandmothers and mother's accepted their hubby cheating. Lets be honest. My grandfather was a rolling stone.
It ain't about being honest either. Still stupid, especially to fight other women over a man who cheats. The battle is with the WRONG PERSON!
yeah, now that is ignorant. I find chicks like that lack self esteem.

We may be talking about a different set of values with our grandparents generation.
My grandfather was a rolling stone too, but my grandmother was in no way naive, stupid or lacked self-esteem. Nor was the cheating "accepted". Divorce just wasn't as acceptable in her generation and there may have been a religious connotation also.
You make it sound as if a vacation is a bi-weekly or monthly thing. I'm glad his Dad, my Mom, sisters, and his other grandparents don't mind taking care of him while I am gone on vacation or anywhere else for that matter.
I would think even a couple of times a year may even be a stretch, especially while they are very young. Since my mother and her husband aren't close to retirement age, that would mean that they would end up having to drag the kid to day care and then rush home from work to pick him up when they didn't necessarily sign up for that. I'm sure they wouldn't mind a weekend or two, but I can see where any real vacations during the week could cause a problem.
You'll be surprised to find out how good grandparents are at making time for their grandkids.
That is so true. Shyt my dad spends more time with his grandkids, then he did with his own kids. :lmao: He gives them allowances, he didn't give us shyt but a speech and a hard time to go.

For real!
My parents would love more time with my son and my brother's kids. And my father is definitely "softer" with the grandkids than he was with us.![]()
My pops be letting my nieces and nephews play with his tools and everything. Man he cussed me out a couple of weeks ago for moving his tools. Then gone say "Boy I know you ain't jealous of no child". Man I was 38 hot.
