How Do You Get locs to Stay Locked!!!!
Tony, it's really going to depend on your grade of hair on how fast your hair will lock. If you have really coarse hair, it could lock up in a few short months.
But if you have fine or "so called good" hair, the process will take longer.
It locks (at least for when I had locs) when you're consistent with maintaining TWISTS. After some months, you will start to fill balls/knots in your twists; the matted hair is beginning to permanently lock. Once it starts to lock, it will lock pretty fast.
For me, my hair locked after 6 months. Nowadays, you have natural hair specialists who can help you achieve locs. There are also hair care products for those who desire twists, coils and locs. I locked my own hair and started doing others who wanted twists or locs when I lived in Jackson.
It takes a lot of maintenance to have locs... especially if you want them to look good (and clean).
