I said it when those few idiot nut job's made the Juke box look bad and I'm saying it for this shat right here making people do push up or whatever, YOU CAN'T DO ANY OF THIS SHAT THESE DAYS.

When it comes to exercise, you make the whole section drop, and then you line crabs up on one side and you line oldheads on the other, that way if they complain, and cry to there parents, it will show that they were never singled out or forced to do something that all band members were required to do. You will never march. Line your azz up on the sideline and watch practice. When the folks ask you why you not in the drill, you tell 'em, "Because I couldn't do the proper readiness techniques to prepare myself for the endurance of a halftime show (pushups)." I treated crabs as though they were never apart of the band, section or anything. Never lined them up with the old heads, made them earn there spot, and I treated old heads just the same. Oldheads could use some exercise too! Folks think being an oldhead automatically stops your "conditioning". Yo azz drop too! It's a new day folks. But it starts with those old heads. Coming through the Storm, one thing I can say, when you were dropped, old heads got down with you too! It made you push yourself even more. Good times.

I will never forget when Prof begged me to put this heavy girl in the drill because she could play, I said NO. She can't even stand at sectionals. She never marched. Remained on the sideline at attention the whole season.......

See ya'll have to realize, these days they tell us at SU that marching to the practice field and AAYYY OOHH, like we do on gameday, is hazing. Its really getting to the point that teaching our school taditions are hazing. One of the times we were suspected of hazing when i was in the band was because we had the freshmen singing the fight song the day we taught it so they could memorize during freshman week. Its a new day and i don't like it but there's nothing we can do about it.......Adjust....kids don't care about the physical side of band anymore. They just want to crank in the stands. But i don't blame them, i blame their overprotective parents. Thats why our nation is so obeist now

I feel ya on that Soror. We wouldn't have had a band back when I came through if the rules were like they are now. Exercising to me is not hazing unless you push somebody over their limit.....but I know the rules say so. Now I can understand not putting your hands on folks. The landscape has changed and since the lawyers/legal system have gotten involved now a days. You even have football coaches getting charged or sued. So it is what it is.

I guess the only folks can get away with that now is the military. :shame:

SU's nutt jobs almost killed 2 students and JSU's nutt jobs just can't get it through their thick arse heads that this shat can get you kicked out of school and put in jail no matter how small the violation is THESE DAYS.

exactly that shat that got me kicked out the band in 2000, so this shat aint nothin new. Folks been soft for a long time, they just added litigation to it now.
