Hell, nobody is ever happy with the refs. Heck, the players out there on the floor ain't perfect either. Why don't you go out there and try to officiate a game knowing that 50 percent of the people in the building will hate you no matter what call you don't or do make.

It's sad that Anthony is not getting his props. The NBA doesn't want to hype him up because he has that thug/bad boy image. He has been a very consistent player through out his career and has led his team to the playoffs every year. Dude has made it to only one All Star game. That is a freaking travesty.

At minimum the refs should be consistent. If they're going to call something, then call it the entire game. They throw the game completely off. The players can only do what they are allowed to do. The players still put on a great show regardless of the horrible refs. You can't dispute that.

In reality, JR Smith overran the ball and had no effect on the play. As far as Melo allegedly pushing down Ariza, it couldn't have been much different than Kobe pushing Jones to the ground earlier in the game to get a rebound. The officiating is consistently atrocious in both directions.

Styles, you're right but you're wasting your time with kendrick. He defends the refs no matter what. This guy probably debates himself.

Well, Anthony has been overshadow even before he entered the NBA Draft. People forget that man won a national championship his freshman year in college. However, LeBron James was hyped in the draft. Then the Pistons drafted Darko ahead of him. I think Melo has flown under the radar because the Nuggets have faltered in the postseason.

But now he and Billups are carrying this team. So far, he has been step for step with Kobe Bryant.

I think its the market he is playing in..... who watches Nuggetts games on tv? When Anthony and LJ were in the draft... i wouldnt say he was "overshadowed"....Everybody was talking about both players.

As I said earlier, nobody is going to be happy with the refs at all no matter what. If one teams goes to the line more, it will be said that the refs showed favoritism. If one team does not get calls, folks are going to say that team got screwed.

The refs are going to make some questionable calls throughout the game much like how players take bad shots, miss free throws and make bad plays.

Hell, quit complaining and enjoy the game.

I thought the officiating was fair.
 
I think Melo is a more versatile scorer and better shooter than LeBron... I think LeBron is the better passer, distributor, facilitator. When I first told my son that this year (along with my opinion that Mello is a tougher cover for LeBron than the other way around) he doubted me. Then in a matchup, I pointed out that Melo would take LeBron inside to take advantage of his better post play skills. Afterwards he said..."I never would have thought it, but you're right."

It doesn't matter if he overran the ball or not. You can't go through the circle like that. It is a violation. That should have been side out Lakers. And please don't start with the Kobe pushing Jones stuff. At a critical time like that (maybe 15 seconds or so left in the game) an obvious push in the back should be called. I mean Anthony extended his arm as he pushed Ariza to the floor. It was so obvious. That foul, if you're not gonna call the violation on JR Smith, should have sent Ariza to the line for free throws with the Lakers down by 2. I can't even understand how anyone could argue that. This is very similar, although not as bad, as what happened in Dallas where the NBA ended up apologizing to the Mavericks.
 



Kendrick you're so full of isht until it isn't funny. There has never in the history of the NBA been this inconsistent officiating.

Having said that, what Kobe needs to do is get refocus and let his team know it's them against David Stern and go out and take no prisoners form here on out.

It's the NBA and that's the way that they play

In other words only the bad/missed calls that went against the Lakers matter.
 
Just like that the Lakers lose home court advantage.

Ariza was not pushed. He tripped and fell. Go back and look at the replay. Then you have Kobe Bryant complaining about fouling Billups when he never touched him. :lol:

Oh, and bluedog I remember back in the day John Stockton and M.J. and Karl Malone getting away with murder....murder and nothing was called.

I remember one play back in the 1998 NBA Finals where Stockton made a cut through the lane, fell down and the refs called a foul on Rodman. NBC shows the replay and Dennis Rodman was not even close to touching the man. Stockton just fell. :lol:
 
We lost no excuse for it. If I make a comment I would be whining. If I defend my team I'm a homer. If I make observations I'm making excuses. All 4 teams are in for a dog fight and David Stern is happy.

Great! you're talking about a one game or two in a series vs an entire playoff and if you're really trying to be fair you know everybody who has a fair sense of the game has been complaining about that from day one.

Again having said that it's only one thing for KOBE to do. That's why he's paid the big bucks and that's why they dismantle and entire team for him, now it's time for him to stop sitting back in the shadows and waiting but to take control from the start to the end (if they let him).
