Man, I don't know who dropped the ball on tickets last year but the Hampton game and the SCG almost drove me crazy and I was not satisfied with EITHER of my seats in the end. I even called Hampton for Orlando tickets...and they had none either. The lady answering the phone in the ticket office didn't even know what I was talking about at first... lol

When JSU play's SU at MUMFORD, you know there are not going to be 8,000 to 12,000 plus ticket's available for JSU no matter what.
That's half your stadium people on here saying we can get.
Are you saying that we should be quick to buy cause just like us, SU is a walk up on Saturday and buy school like JSU.

Just like the other 50 times this has been posted, there will be only about 5,000 ticket's available to JSU when we play ya'll at Mumford.
Why would 20,000 JSU fan's even go down the highway when we know that no matter what, that 5,000 number is tops.

The people that do go ARE THE ONES THAT HAVE THE TICKETS.

That's it in a nutshell. A plethora of JSU fans don't want to give Southern their money due to the experiences they've encountered. I'm quite sure when/if we ever get a stadium on Lynch and Jags have to endure what JSU have to endure going to Mumford, then y'all would understand.

Far as I'm concerned, SU can sign a 20 year contract to play the game in Memorial.

Yes, I am a season ticket holder for MY seat. However, the games I attend...I usually have at least 10 other people attending with me from parents, to sister's family, grandmother, and sometimes Sorors coming to kick it from the Chi....why pay $70-$80 EXTRA when I can put the ticket money in my best friend's Chase banking account, that lives in Jackson, and she can walk her azz right over to the AAC and get my tickets?!?!
That's a "negga" mentality to not want to spend $80 extra when I'm already paying for transportation, hotel stay, tailgating expenses, etc?!?! :retard:

We have taken this subject way off line to very irrelevant discussions. Anyone who think Baton Rouge isn't safe and Jackson is, has lost their mind or have been sold a bag of nothing for a million dollars. Who cares how and when I or you or anybody else buys their ticket, just a long as it is legitimate tickets. As for available tickets for visitors, for many years, SU didn't have additional tickets for visitors. The SWAC mandates so many to be made available to the guest, so of course that was provided. Only that was provided because we didn't have any issues selling every seat available. However, times have changed and that is no longer the case, as it demands for tickets have changed in Jackson. So, yes, there are more seats available to actually sell to our opponents.
My comments have nothing to do with all of that crap. I'm merely asking us to all find out what is being or has been agreed upon in contract regarding this year's SU vs JSU game. Period. I'm scared it doesn't benefit either school and if we don't know the facts we'll add this to the irrelevant crap that we shoot at each other for why a great game was damaged. SU vs JSU is currently good for both school and the SWAC. Let's be mature enough to ensure it remains that way.

Here what most of you dont understand. If the SU ticket manager walked to Jackson and GAVE away 10,000 tickets to JSU fans at the Walter Paytong complex, JSU fans still wouldnt go to SU in droves. Im generalizing, but the issue at this point is not seating and ticketmaster fees, the issue is safety.
JSU folks dont feel safe at Mumford, real or perceived. Most fans say "Im not talking my kids to that place. Somebody gets killed down there every year." They have heard about the gun shots and the fights.
Real or perceived, SU is known for its hostile environment and nasty fans. For somebody like me, thats good. But most people are not going to take their wifes and daughters into that kind of danger...REAL OR PERCIEVED. JSU fans foster a good family atomosphere. We dont want to put up with the mess yall think is normal.

Frat, that's what I am saying. If you know you can't get that many on the day of the game.......then you have no choice but to use other methods. All I am saying if 8,000 hard core JSU fans wanted tickets to that game in Mumford. They could get them way in advance. The only tickets sold before they all go on sell is season books.
It is my same analogy for us going to play FAMU. We already know their fans are going to get tickets and show up for that game in Tally.......so a sensible SU fan can't wait to do a walk up. So we buy their tickets up before the rush happens. We know that they aint going to send us but so many to BR. So we don't wait. So if you see 8,000 Jags in Tally Ho it is because they jumped on those early. The ones standing outside the gate will be ones who didn't have the good sense (Thanks Robber) to do so.
What you are saying is that 8K JSU fans are not willing to buy their tickets well in advance before all of them are gone. If that was a game that JSU folks really wanted to see..........they can get those tickets in August when they go on sale just like the casual SU fan who can't get them from SU. That's all I am saying. I bet if LSU for some dumb reason had to play SU in football at our stadium......them white folks would find a way to get more than the 2-3 K tickets we would send. So basically it is all up to the desire of your fan base.
As a SU fan and alum I know when I am going to go to a game on the road, I better get my ticket in advance. I aint taking no chances waiting on some allotment. Even if I lived in Baton Rouge I wouldn't wait.
That's like a Michigan fan waiting on Ohio State to send an allotment to Ann Arbor. Those real Michigan fans get their tickets in advance way before Ohio State sends any to Michigan. But I guess them folks got the dollars to spend by any means necessary.:lol:

I know damm well for a SU/JSU game at Mumford, there are not 8,000 ticket's left after the 1st day of sales because of your home crowd and student tickets which is the way it should be for YOUR home game in a 25,000 stadium.
People on here act like JSU shoulkd be singled out for Ticketmaster use but everytime I travel to another school's stadium, I see the home crowd in the ticket line on gameday just like JSU.
Most of these people are blind to their own situation but they can come in here and talk about JSU for doing the same thing we have done for 40 years with no problems and excuse themselves.:smh:

Frat, you still aint getting what I am saying. I didn't say you had to use ticketmaster for every game. You don't have to when yall go to Gram and AAMU even though their stadiums are smaller. Yall already know those folks aint buying up their tickets. All I am saying for a game somewhere that you know for sure is going to be difficult on game day to get a ticket then you have do something else to get them.
Ms State game for instance. JSU fans already know they aint going to find many walk up tickets for that game. So you better not roll to Starksville without a ticket in hand. Ms State shole aint going to send but so many to Jackson.
My argument is that if JSU wanted more than 1000 fans or so in Mumford, there are ways for that to happen outside of the SU allotment we send. People pick and choose what they want to do. I am sure some SU alums pass on going to Tally Ho because they know they can't walk up and just get tickets on game day because they decided at the last minute they can roll to the game. Folks know they can do that coming to Jackson due to the size of the stadium. If yall get a new stadium and say it holds 35-40 K.........the same issue will be presented to SU fan to get tickets.

You guys are making a big deal about a stadium expansion and coaches offices that PB did 2 years ago but they werent beating their chest about it. And I'm still trying to figure how you guys determined that JSU didn't travel to those games. yeah we left Bell high and dry but I went to two games and all I saw was JSU tags everywhere even on the drive down. And JSU was thick both years I went. Yeah we won those two games too.
