More than seven months after entering the transfer portal, former Virginia University-Lynchburg CJ Brooks has announced he has finally found a new home.
Brooks is going to Daytona Beach to play for the Bethune-Cookman Wildcats. He comes to Bethune-Cookman with three years of eligibility remaining.
The former Dragons quarterback recorded 1,255 passing yards, completed over 50% of his passes, and scored nine touchdowns in the 2023 season (stats for the Fort Lauderdale game not included).

He was a big part of VUL’s monumental win over Lane, in which they overcame a 40-21 second-half deficit, spoiling its homecoming.
Brooks finished that game with a season-high 252 passing yards, completing 58% of his passes and scoring four touchdowns.
He followed that performance up with 228 passing yards on 56% passing and a touchdown against Fort Valley State.
Bethune-Cookman is entering its fourth season since joining the SWAC looking to record its first winning season in the conference.
