Memphis, Tenn. – The Mississippi Valley State Devilettes’ volleyball team opened their season with a win on the road today over the Lady Comets of Crichton College. Despite a valiant effort by the hosts, the Devilettes overpowered the Lady Comets defeating them in three straight games 30-14, 30-9 and 30-17.
The Devilettes were led by outside hitter Shatara Baydak who recorded five kills, five digs and a blocked shot. Maua Moed turned in nine kills and two blocked shots with four service aces, while Emily Johnson added six kills.
The Devilettes will be in action again tomorrow as they remain in Memphis to take on the Lady Bucs of Christian Brothers College at 2 p.m.
