There is no better way to commemorate the 2017 HBCU marching band season than to recognize the very best halftime shows of the year.
The marching season that was 2017 included halftime shows that involved a unique mix of themes, social messages, and a hefty dose of dissing opposing bands.
With the understanding that HBCU bands possess their very own unique styles and other individual traits that have become synonymous in establishing their brands, the criteria in creating our third annual list was the same as it has been for the previous two: song selection, creativity and crowd reaction.
