The Alabama A&M women’s basketball team made program history Thursday night, extending its winning streak to 11 games with a commanding 82-52 victory over Arkansas-Pine Bluff.
The streak ties a Division I program record set during the 1996–97 season.
“It always feels good to be a part of something special,” head coach Dawn Thornton told WHNT 19 on Thursday night. “I believe when I was hired back in April, that was something Dr. Bryant, Dr. Wims and I talked about. I’m thankful to be a part of history, but it’s just another win for us — we’ve got to keep pushing.”
The Bulldogs (15–9, 10–1 SWAC) have turned their season around after starting 4–8 in nonconference play.
