If college football had a journeyman award, Cornelious “Quad” Brown IV would be a top contender.
Brown will begin his seventh season of collegiate football, a journey that has taken him to Alabama A&M, where he could be the Bulldogs next starting quarterback.
“I’ve worked hard for this opportunity, and I never take it lightly,” Brown told FOX 54. “I want to show Coach (Sam) Shade, the team, and myself that every step I’ve taken was earned — nothing was handed to me.”
After stops at Georgia State and UT-Martin, Brown has brought his experience and poise to the Bulldogs, determined to make a lasting impact.
Reflecting on his multi-school journey, Brown said, “Every program has taught me something unique — about football, about leadership, about myself. That variety has built a resilience and football IQ that you can’t get any other way.” He continued, “I’m ready to take all that experience and build something real here at Alabama A&M. No more quarterback carousel — I want us to be stable, consistent, and winning.”

Alabama A&M hasn’t had a quarterback throw for more than 2,000 yards or hold the full-time starting role since Aqeel Glass in 2021, who won SWAC Offensive Player of the Year and led the Bulldogs to a SWAC title during his career.
The hope is Brown will break that cycle and power an offense that’s been improving steadily, especially up front with the offensive line.
Speaking to his competitive drive and family background, he shared, “Competition runs in my blood — my dad played college basketball, my siblings are in basketball and cheerleading. That’s the fuel that pushes me to keep grinding, keep improving every day.”
Brown has looked back at his highs and lows with gratitude: “Being named MVP in the LendingTree Bowl and winning the OVC title were special moments, but the tough times — the losses, the injuries, the doubts — those have made me who I am. They fuel my hunger to win now with the Bulldogs.”
As Alabama A&M’s season unfolds, the Bulldogs and fans alike are placing their hopes on Brown’s veteran leadership and electrifying playmaking to lead the team to a new era of success in the SWAC.
