A pair of the top HBCU sluggers will have the opportunity to showcase their skills in front of professional scouts among the nation’s top college and high school baseball players.
Grambling State infielders Cameron Bufford and Kyle Walker were two of 300 draft-eligible players invited to the 2024 MLB Draft Combine.
Bufford was a catalyst in leading Grambling to a SWAC championship and a berth in the NCAA Tournament during a historic season for the senior. He set the program career home run record with 45, a feat he achieved on March 2 against Florida A&M. Bufford ended the regular season with a .349 batting average, 56 RBI, and an OPS of 1.016.
Walker, a second baseman from New Orleans, hit .394 with 11 home runs and 41 RBI.
