Football fans might have occasionally seen Jordan Reid doing a SportsCenter hit previewing a big college game or appearing on NFL Live to break down the top NFL Draft picks.
Reid, who played football at North Carolina Central, has been a fixture on ESPN’s football coverage, particularly leading up to the draft, making him one of the respected authorities in the industry.
His work recently earned him recognition from the sports media website Awful Announcing as one of the Rising Stars of Sports Media, along with play-by-play announcer Noah Eagle, ESPN women’s basketball analyst Andraya Carter, and retired college football coach Nick Saban, among others.
Here is what Awful Announcing said about Reid:
ESPN has quietly reshuffled its NFL Draft coverage over the past few years and Jordan Reid has been one of the best additions. While he may only get limited airtime, he’s made the most of his opportunities and his online content — including seven-round mock drafts — is some of the best in the industry.

Prior to joining ESPN, Reid was a national scout and writer for The Draft Network from 2019-2021, a start-up college football and NFL draft scouting platform.
Prior to his shift to the media, Reid was a coach and recruiting coordinator at NC Central University from 2014-2018, as part of MEAC championship teams.
His move to coaching followed his playing career (2010-2013), during which he started for three seasons at quarterback and finished his career ranked eighth on NCCU’s passing list with 3,524 yards, seventh in career pass completions with 334, and eighth in total offense with 3,842 total yards.
