With the final pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft, former Jackson State forward Angel Jackson heard her name called being selected by the reigning WNBA champion Las Vegas Aces.
Jackson State has now fielded the last two HBCU WNBA draft selections, with Ameshya Williams-Holliday having been selected in the third round of the 2022 draft by the Indiana Fever.
Jackson played her final two collegiate seasons with the Tigers and transferred to the team from the University of Southern California in 2022.

She averaged 9.6 points, 6.9 rebounds, and 2.7 blocks in 64 games with the Tigers, helping lead the team to back-to-back regular season championships.
The USC transfer was named the SWAC Defensive Player of the Year in her two seasons and was selected to the All-SWAC First Team this past season.
Jackson displayed her defensive prowess in Jackson State SWAC tournament championship run this season, averaging 9.0 rebounds and 5.3 blocks.
Jackson is looking to become the first HBCU player to play in a WNBA regular-season game since Andrea Gardner played for the Washington Mystics in 2008.
